Dear Small Pro-Gun Group.

As much as I understand the fact that you want to play with the big boys, your first duty is not to provide the opposition with ammunition that can be used against gun owners.Desperation to make headlines and gather funds makes for poor counsel. Net time select your fights carefully, even if they are “slam-dunks.”

Thank you.

  1. As my old Army ROTC instructor used to say: “Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance”

Enthusiasm is nice, but without a proper plan and just making headlines is not the way to do it. The News will always put out scandals and whatnot because it sells. Netting a headline with such is not a proper way to advertise yourself or our cause.

    1. Check recent SCOTUS decisions. I am not giving direct help to the antis that monitor my page.

The one that you would say “They couldn’t be that friggging dumb and go support this asshole” will be the one.

For the record, I support the SCOTUS decision on that case.

  2. A pro-gun group in my state tried to organize a rally for better laws. They alerted the media and every legislator. They did not specify a specific location, specific time, or provide parking information – they were hoping for so many people as to fill the Capitol. Then they published (online) photos, and crowded about how successful their 5 person protest was. 5 fat white men ‘protesting’ outside the bar they were about to go in.

Rule of thumb: if you can’t get 50% of your local gun club involved, don’t alert the media. You are just making us look weak and disorganized.

  3. Oops – forgot to mention that several of us (from another gun club) were interested in participating, and repeatedly asked for the who/what/when/where/how information.
