Obama’s request of Terrorist Victims versus Homicide Victims.

The president ordered and the lapdogs barked.

Everytown terrorism murders

There is a wee bit of a problem: Everytown and the rest of the Gun Control pundits are way short on US Citizens Worldwide deaths from Terrorism. How so? They forgot the US Servicemen and women that have fallen fighting the Terrorists, but I am not surprised because the left does hate the Military and consider them dumb. I checked a couple of sources in the interwebs and the result comes about 6,864 dead fighting the evil bastards that wants us dead.

Another thing, the fighting over the sandbox is not being done by adopting universal background checks, gun registration or posting Gun Free Zone signs (although I am sure that if they could blame the NRA without looking like bigger fools, they would do so). It is being done with people packing real assault guns shooting the living crap out of the bad guys.

Good guys responding with deadly force to bad guys doing bad stuff…. what a concept! Maybe we could apply it generously across our nation schools and other Gun Free Zones.

  1. It’s always very convenient, too, when these lying bastards do their little, phoney, “terrorist comparison,” they ALWAYS start it with 2002. Always.

    1. The excuse is being the fist full year of the War on Terror. The USS Cole, the barracks in Saudi Arabia, the Embassies in Africa do not count I guess because it was a dem prez.

  2. The problem with lap dogs is that they don’t need to tell the truth. Just repeat the lie over and over so that the low-information voters believe that it’s the truth.

  3. If you don’t indulge in criminal activity, your odds of being shot are near zero.

Yes, sometimes random people are shot — but there’s only one organized group that plots such acts.

  4. I’d also add that 142K for homicides seems like an unusually high average for that time period, I don’t have time right now to check all the years, but a quick glance at the last 5 from the FBI’s UCR makes it clear something is off.

    1. I was lazy and I didn’t want to go through the FBI UCR, but you brought it up so…

My math comes to 112,173 for the period 2002 – 2013. I used the data provided by the FBI for that year so a bit of adjustment may have happened after the yearly publication.

But I don’t think it accounts for an error of almost 30% (extra 30,000 homicides)

Need some volunteers to check my info

      1. I wouldn’t bother. It’s a pointless comparison, just there to bait us. How could someone compare state-sponsored terrorism against homicides, which are criminal activities? Everyone knows most of those homicides are gang bangers or drug cartels fighting turf wars. I mean, I don’t see what it could possibly mean to compare them. Those two things aren’t related in any way except that dem politicians love to prosecute terrorism as crime rather than war.

So there’s more day to day crime than international terrorism? This is my surprised face.

  5. So, double the number below to get 2002-2014 and you are looking at about 41,500 for the WHITE population. While BLACK homicides number 44,897 & 16.34 per 100,000 or about 90,000 for that 2002-2014 period. WHITE people with guns is NOT the problem!

BTW, the TOTAL murder rate in Canada is 1.6 per 100,000. So, there is very little difference between WHITE America and Canada.

    2001 – 2007, United States

White, Non-Hispanic Both Sexes, All Ages
    Homicide Firearm Deaths 20,725 & 1.51 per 100,000

  6. Since the vast, vast majority of deaths involving firearms is gang related violence in the inner cities I have to ask what they propose if not to adopt a military response?

So are they advocating they we adopt an occupation army, checkpoints, house-to-house searches for weapons and contraband, kill zones, Predator drones overhead, ROE that a black man with a gun is automatically assumed to be a criminal and thus a valid shoot target and all other sorts of military level responses?

To try to compare a military operations area with domestic criminal activity it is purely apples and oranges.

Of course, remember that our enemies use indiscriminate attacks on innocent citizens such as on September 11th and would not hesitate to use WMDs, especially nuclear weapons, if given the opportunity. So what is the administration doing to avoid this incredible existential threat?

Hmm… they are handing the keys to the nuclear kingdom on a silver platter to Iran, a sworn enemy. The violence of firearms in our society by criminal elements is a drop in the bucket compared to what a terrorist nuke attack would do so I would like us to prioritize on ending that threat first and foremost.

  7. 2002 – 2013, United States
    Homicide Firearm Deaths and Rates
White, Non-Hispanic Both Sexes, All Ages

    34,901 deaths and 1.46 per 100,000

Black, Non-Hispanic Both Sexes, All Ages

    76,756 deaths and 16.66 per 100,000

But gun control is always aimed at the WHITE gun owners.

  8. Guns have a neglected “upside” that terrorism doesn’t have. Firearms are used somewhere between 800,000 to 2 million times/year in self-defense. If only a very small percentage of the defensive uses of firearms protected lives, the total number of lives saved could easily create a third column that would match or exceed the “gun homicide” column. No such offset is available for the “terrorism” column. No terrorist ever contributed to anyone’s self-defense.

  9. Notice that they start counting from 2002, neatly avoiding the almost 3000 from the 9-11 twin towers.
And like you said, servicemen & women sould be counted under “US citizen deaths worldwide from terrorism”.
Even if this wasn’t an apples vs oranges comparison their numbers are way off.
