You rememeber that gun used in Paris and traced to a Florida dealer?

CSGV Century Arms

How do you say “oops!” in Serbian?

BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) — In a Dec. 10 story, The Associated Press incorrectly reported that a gun exported by a Serbian manufacturer to a Florida-based company was involved in the Nov. 13 Paris attacks. In fact, the gun in question was not involved in the attacks and has been in Mexican government custody since March of this year, according to U.S. authorities.

What possessed Zastava to drop that load of crap? Maybe trying to deflect the possibility of illegal weapons trading? Or maybe buying time to sanitize records?

One other thing, I could have sworn that besides CSGV, the other Gun Control Groups mentioned the bad news item in Facebook, but I can’t find them now. Am I misremembering?

  1. 5 bucks says Mexico is selling guns to ISIS and is trying to CTA

    • The cartels have an existing channel to Europe. I wouldn’t be surprised if that gun was supplied by them. I also wouldn’t be surprised if it was a F&F gun, but if it was you know the story would be very lightly reported if it’s reported at all.

    • you’d lose. Do you know how many guns are floating around from the former Yugoslavia nations after the Balkan conflict?

      • “you’d lose. Do you know how many guns are floating around from the former Yugoslavia nations after the Balkan conflict?”

One has noting to do with the other. Stop covering for Mexico.

        • Scenario One:
Gun gets shipped from Zastava in a sealed container accompanied with an End of User Certificate to a bonded & secured warehouse where it waits till the ship arrives.
Container gets loaded in the ship under scrutiny of the law and begins voyage.
If the ship makes a stop anywhere, that container is flagged for check up to see the seals are intact.
The ship makes it to its final port. Container gets loaded in a truck and immediately segregated to a bonded & secured warehouse where ATF (And I think State dep) checks the contents against the manifest and records the serial numbers before releasing to the wholesaler.
Wholesaler takes the guns to its place of business and records the numbers into its bonded book.
Retailer orders gun from wholesaler, it gets shipped and once received, Retailer logs gun in its records.
Retailer sells gun to undetected straw man purchaser following all federal and local laws.
Straw Purchaser takes the gun across the border to Mexico and delivers it to cartel.
Cartel receives an email from Jihadi Jules requesting a gun.
Cartel uses its pipeline for drugs and delivers a $500 , 6 pound gun instead of making $80,000 sending 6 pounds of cocaine.
Jihadi Jules gets his gun and goes killing Frenchmen in the streets of Paris.

          Scenario 2:
Henchman buddy of Jihadi Jules buys gun in the former East European black market.
Puts it in the back of a car and drives to Paris across the borderless European Union.
Henchman delivers gun to Jihadi Jules in his Parisian flat. They had coffee and some great pastries.
Jihadi Jules goes on a shooting rampage soon after that.

Yes, I can see how the first scenario makes more sense.

  2. […] Turns out that AK used in the Paris attacks which allegedly traced to Century Arms in Florida was an error. […]
