A Florida man had his right leg ripped off below the knee in horrific alligator attack before wildlife officials shot dead two huge predators.

The man, 72, whose identity was not disclosed, was working outside his Titusville home on Friday afternoon with his wife and dog when the huge gator emerged from the canal.

When deputies from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrived at his home located at the Great Outdoors Nature, RV and Golf Resort, they found the gator in the water with the man’s foot protruding from its mouth.

Patrons ran to his rescue after hearing him screaming for help during the attack. They pulled him out of the water and put a makeshift tourniquet on his severed right arm.

From his ICU bed in Fort Myers, Rivera took a remarkably sanguine attitude to the unfortunate incident when he said: ‘I didn’t lose my life, I lost an arm, it’s not the end of the world.’

He said: ‘As I was going over there something happened where I either tripped or the ground below me just went down. I ended up in the water. And that’s literally the last thing I remember.’

The next time he opened his eyes, he was in the hospital with an amputated arm.

Disney announces its huge Star Wars hotel will CLOSE just a year after opening and charging visitors up to $20,000 for two night ‘voyage’ on fake Orlando spaceship with no windows

The expensive and immersive Star Wars hotel at Walt Disney World in Florida is closing after just one year of taking guests on a two-night ‘voyage’ that could cost up to $20,000.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser was originally sold as an experience rather than a hotel and costs around $1,200 per person per day. One ‘tricked out’ suite has been reported to come in at a whopping $20,000 for the trip.

The immersive lodging, which is based in Orlando – and does not have any windows – will carry out its final ‘voyages’ in September, four years after it was announced at D23 Expo in 2019 as part of the park’s $1 billion Star Wars land.

The news of the closure comes just months after DailyMail.com reported that Disney was struggling to fill up bookings and had reduced availability for the fall.

The hotel, which is located near Disney World in Orlando, Florida, created major buzz when it first opened over its price and its amenities.

Included in the two day experience is a cabin or suite, ongoing immersive entertainment, food and beverages in and out of the space, and admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

A room that can accommodate three adults and one child is priced at $5,999, not including taxes and fees.

A cabin with two guests comes in at $4,809 while three guests comes to $5,299.

The Starcruiser “immersive experience” is three days pretending you are living in a cruise ship in the Star Wars universe.

That looks like it would be fun for a few hours, or a cool theme restaurant, but unless you are a ridiculous Star Wars super-fan into LARPing, that’s gonna get old fast.

Considering the $6,000 price tag, the only people willing to pay for that are Star Wars super-fan into LARPing.

Did Disney have it’s head so far up it’s own ass that it thought that there were enough Star Wars super-fan into LARPing to sustain this as a business?

Because clearly, there are not.

This took $350 Million to build, so they didn’t recoup their investment.

Family of NYC woman stabbed to death in her apartment by mentally ill homeless man sue NYPD for taking too long to break in to save her from him

The family of a woman who was brutally murdered in her New York City apartment by a mentally ill homeless man has sued police for allegedly causing her death by taking too long to try to save her.

Christina Yuan Lee, 35, was stabbed more than 40 times in February, 2022, after Assamad Nash followed her inside her Chinatown building as she got out of a cab in the early morning hours, according to police.

Neighbors contacted the New York Police Department after hearing Lee’s desperate screams for ‘at least five minutes’ as she was being attacked by Nash, who has a long criminal record.

Lee’s family says two unidentified officers stood outside Lee’s apartment as they heard her screams, failing to break down the door in time to save the ad executive, claims the lawsuit, which was filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court on Friday and first reviewed by The Daily Beast.

The lawsuit claims the officers, who came from the 5th Precinct just a few blocks way from Lee’s apartment, even spoke to her alleged murderer.

It states: ‘Despite having reason to believe Ms. Lee’s life was in imminent danger, [the officers] failed to gain entry to Ms. Lee’s apartment or otherwise provide her with any potentially life-saving police or medical assistance at that time.’

When officers finally broke down the door to Lee’s apartment 90 minutes later, they found the partially naked woman bleeding to death from 40 wounds to her torso, head and neck inside the bathtub.

On February 12, 2011, the NYPD watched through the window of the driver’s cabin as wanted criminal Maskim Gelman stabbed Joe Lozito multiple times on a Subway car, and did nothing until Lozito managed to fight back and subdue Gelman.

Lozito sued the NYPD because at the time, German was the subject of an active manhunt because he was on a stabbing spree.

The NYPD defended themselves saying they had no duty to protect Lozito and could hide in the safety of the driver’s cabin and fuck Lozito.

The NYPD won.

The Supreme Court and US Court of Appeals have previously decided that police have no duty to protect.

LADOT introduces new solar-powered bus shelters that cast shadow

A bus stop at the intersection of 3rd Street and Union Avenue is the site of an ambitious new pilot program to bring shade, lighting and safety to female transit riders.

On Thursday, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation unveiled its new La Sombrita, or little shade, in four LA neighborhoods.

Designed by and for female bus riders, the unassuming blue metal structures provide lighting at night and shade during the day, casting a shadow that elongates enough during some times of day to provide shade to nearby bus benches in addition to the person standing directly beneath it.

“At many stops in my neighborhood, there isn’t any area where you feel safe waiting for the bus,” Watts resident, and public transit rider, Kiana Stepney said at La Sombrita’s unveiling Thursday in Westlake. “La Sombrita will make waiting for the bus at night safer and more comfortable during hot days.”

Because the shelters are attached to pre-existing LADOT signs, they do not require costly new infrastructure or permitting. Because they are small, they also fit on narrow sidewalks that aren’t able to accommodate larger shelters.

“The lack of essential amenities like shade and lighting isn’t just a simple inconvenience. For women and gender minorities — half of our population — it can change the trajectory of their lives,” said Chelina Odbert, founding principal of the Kounkuey Design Initiative, which developed the structures with input from female transit riders.

Women who do not feel safe might forgo public transportation and the opportunities that come along with being able to travel outside their immediate areas, she said.

This reads like a parody.  “Standing in line for a bus sucks, women and minorities hardest hit.”

First of all, that piece of shit cost only $10,000?

Wow, did they over pay.

But when you look at it in relation to the preexisting bus stop benches, at what time of day and year does it cast a shadow that covers them?

Did the diverse group of women who designed that forget that in the northern hemisphere, shadows are long in winter and short in summer?

So if you’re a woman who wants to sit in the shade at any time of the day except those certain hours. You’re just fucked.

What about things other than sun, like rain?  I guess women are fine to stand in the rain.

What about men?  Are men not allowed to stand in the women’s shade?

I suspect that there are a lot of better designs for more useful shade cover that could be built for $10,000, or less, but that’s just me thinking like a straight white male engineer.

This is an embarrassing failure of design that only points out that design by diversity committee is the worst way to do anything.

I just can’t wait until that diversity committee builds an overpass for women.  There will be casualties.

In case you missed the story:

A white nurse who is 6-months pregnant rented an e-bikr from an automated kiosk.  A group of five black men grabbed her and her bike and shoved it back into the kiosk, effectively canceling her rental.  Then they rented that bike and tried to take it out from under her.

She resisted and called for help.  The men rrecorded her calling for help and the video went viral.

The claim is that the pregnant white nurse was trying to steal the bike from the five black men.

Receipts prove her side of the story.

Black activists have claimed that she “weaponized her tears.”  That a white woman calling for help when assaulted by black men is tantamount to attempted murder and is racist.

The point here cannot be understated.

The goal is to make people understand that when they are attacked by thugs from an oppressed group, they must not resist or call for help.  They must submit and subjugate themselves.  To resist or even call for help makes them more guilty of moral crimes.  The black man may be stealing something, but resisting their stealing is racist.

We’re seeing the sane thing with the Jordan Neely Daniel Penny subway fight.  Defend innocent people from a black man making terrorists threats is racist.

Don’t fight back. Call the police.

‘Gun-loving’ ex-US army officer calls for gun control after witnessing Texas mall shooting

As an ex-police and US army officer, Steven Spainhouer is comfortable around firearms and goes so far as to describe himself as a “gun lover”.

But Spainhouer is now passionately arguing in favor of meaningful gun control after witnessing a rifle-wielding man murder several people before being shot to death by police outside a suburban Dallas shopping mall Saturday.

“We need some action in our legislatures at the federal and state level for better gun control,” he said in an interview with MSNBC a day after the mass killing outside Premium Outlets in Allen, Texas. “And I’m saying that as someone who loves guns.”

Well, turns out Spainhouer is also a liar.

Bad Samaritan! ‘Hero’ dad who claimed to have rushed to scene of Texas mall massacre where he found girl shot with ‘no face’ is ‘not a credible witness’ and did not administer first aid, cops say

The man who claimed to be a Good Samaritan during the Texas mall massacre has been accused of lying and branded ‘not a credible witness’ by cops.

Allen Police Department said they believe former Army officer Steven Spainhouer has spent the week since the shooting spreading misinformation.

The Allen Police Department has urged media outlets to stop sharing his story over the ‘discrepancies’ in his tale.

‘Inconsistencies between these public accounts and investigative facts led Allen Police Department to conduct a follow-up interview. During this interview, detectives determined that Mr. Spainhouer is not a credible incident witness,’ police said.

Following his interviews, Spainhouer was hailed as a hero for his actions. He later went on to call for gun reform in Texas despite being ‘someone who loves guns.’

In their new statement, police said Spainhouer was at the scene on the day of the mass shooting but that he arrived after an officer had already shot and killed gunman Mauricio Garcia.

Spainhouer ‘did not perform CPR or administer first aid’ and ‘did not move a deceased mother who was covering a live child,’ police said.

Dude is an ex-LEO, one would think he’d know better than to fuck up a criminal investigation with self aggrandizement.

But the ability to get publicly lauded and call for gun control is just too tempting to be bound by little things like the truth.
