Why going to the range is not a game.

While doing the range test of the TN Enhanced permit, the Missus ended up with a “little” reminder of why you always take seriously your time shooting.

A .22LR case ejected from her pistol and landed pretty as you please in her arm. It did not bounce or roll off, but stayed there. The Missus being the smart and safety conscious person that she is and burning pain notwithstanding, kept the gun pointed downrange and simply blew over the shell which was enough to roll off her arm.

She finished the test, scored a 99 and came home with a reminder of her tests that was not simply the paper target.

And that is why she scares me 😀

Enhanced Concealed Permit Class at On Target Shooting.

And we are done with that portion of the show on our way to get the permit. How was it? The class at On Target Shooting Sports was informative  and actually entertaining.  Our instructor was Ryan McCann who has a natural talent for making the teaching of the basics of TN Carry Law entertaining while making very good points across so they stay in your brain. I had read some of the law if not most online, but I wanted to see how it actually differed from Florida and make sure I got those distinctions which I had not and were eye openers. I will continue to get ,more info ’cause this is stuff you cannot stop from learning.

After the classroom part, we went to the range to do the authorized shooting of the angry BB’s and show we don’t suck at firearms safety or basic handling and accuracy. I got my ass handed over by the missus.

I believe she was the higher score of the class. I scored a 97 but I was all over the effing place having myself only to blame for getting flustered about a flyer.

The tests for the classroom portion was not bad but was not a gimme either. It was designed by the State of Tennessee and I believe at sometime during the writing, some corn-based spirits may have been involved in the writing and editing:

Overall? 4 thumbs up for On Target as store, range and teaching facility. I believe you will see more postings about them because they do offer more training and Lord knows I need it.

The futility of wishing for Gun Confiscation

There is no way in hell any administration can go ahead and try to confiscate weapons from Citizens. It does not mean they won’t try because the level of idiocy when it comes to DC or local state capitals is unending.

And it also confirms that Gun Owners are the most pacific bunch of people you’ll ever meet: That many guns in the hands of ornery and pissed off people? Your favorite Gun Hater would be somewhere in the streets of Paris tweeting about missing the kombucha from back home but knowing he would not make it through a visit without being used to zero a rifle.

Why play politics with your kids’ lives?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A federal judge in Memphis has dealt the first blow against Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee’s executive order that allows parents to opt their children out of school mask requirements designed to reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19.

Late Friday, U.S. District Judge Sheryl H. Lipman issued a temporary restraining order that blocks Lee’s order in Shelby County, but it could set the stage for other legal challenges across Tennessee.

The order stems from a lawsuit filed on behalf of two Shelby County students who have medical conditions that make them more vulnerable to the coronavirus. Their attorneys argued that, because Lee’s order allows students to enter schools unmasked and potentially infect other children, the plaintiffs were denied their rights to a public education.

You need to explain something to me s I am not a parent: If your kid has a weakened immune condition or something that makes them sensitive to the Chinka Virus, why would you actually want them to be among other children that potentially could pass them not only Covid but a slew of other contagious infirmities? I would have guessed that a mother would rather keep the your sickling sapling at home well away from potential infections rather than risk him die because you want to be politically ornery.

And why the effing judge decided it was a good idea to risk the life of a minor in that manner if the kid was actually weakened in his/her health? Hell, just a few days ago in Chicago a judge revoked a mother’s custody because she was not vaccinated under medical orders and supposedly presented an alleged risk to her healthy son.

This country has gone mad.
