Shooting at a church in Texas town with a name that triggers Liberals.

Two people are dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting at a church in White Settlement, west of Fort Worth, officials said.
Multiple agencies are responding to 1900 South Las Vegas Trail in White Settlement, where the West Freeway Church of Christ is located.
MedStar spokeswoman Macara Trusty confirmed that one person died at the scene of the shooting, one person died en route to a hospital, and another person was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
The shooter is believed to be one of those three people, said Fort Worth Fire Department spokesman Mike Drivdahl.

2 dead, 1 in critical condition after shooting at White Settlement church, officials say

Still early but initial reports say an armed guard in the church took the shooter out. Also unconfirmed, the picture shows the inside of the church when the shooting starts and the shooter is visible in it.

.

So a Good Guy with a Gun took out a bad guy and stopped what coulkd have been a mass killing, a caus for celebration, right? Nope, Liberals have to Liberal and took exception with the name of the town. Some samples:

There are other tweets blaming Trump, the NRA and the “increasing gun violence problem” in the US even though violence dropped.  The Gun Control crowd is in full mental masturbatory frenzy announcing the end of Gun Rights because it did not stop the shooting…. yeah, I am confused too.

never forget one simple truth when it comes to Gun Control Liberals.

THEY. WANT. YOU. DEAD.

Jews, get out of Blue bubbles and buy guns. The intersectional crowd hates you and wants you dead.

How many times to I have to say that?

From CBS New York:

‘Open Season on Jews’: Outrage Over Spike in NYC Hate Attacks

A 34-year-old woman and her 4-year-old son were attacked in Brooklyn Thursday by someone who yelled anti-Semitic slurs and hit the mother in the head, the latest in a spree of hate during the Jewish holidays that has the community and city officials alarmed.

The NYPD said police are looking into at least seven other incidents of possible hate-based attacks against Jewish people since Dec. 13. City leaders have condemned the attacks that are happening as the Jewish community celebrates the holidays.

“It seems like it’s open season on Jews in New York City,” said Councilmember Chaim Deutsch.

This OpEd was published on December 27th, so that makes seven attacks in 14 days or one every other day for two weeks.

The last confirmed attack happened in the early morning hours on Tuesday on Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights, when a 25-year-old Jewish man was walking on the sidewalk when he saw a large group of people walking toward him, police said.

That man told police that members of the group yelled “f— you Jew” before hurling a Slurpee at him. The group can be heard laughing and one appears to be filming the incident as they quickly flee shortly after.

About 15 hours later, a man in his 50s was standing in front of a building on Union Avenue in the same neighborhood when he said he saw as many as six people approach him after 5 p.m. on Dec. 24, according to police.

One of the people who came up to the man punched him in the back of the head, and the group took off.

Jews in New York City are being targeted for random acts of anti-Semitic violence.

USA Today is reporting that there have been six attacks on Jews in NYC since the start of Hanukkah.  Tonight is the 7th night of Hanukkah.

This surge in anti-Semitic violence was too much for even the Sandinista sympathizer in Gracie Mansion to ignore.

The NYPD will finally protect the group that the FBI identified as the primary victims of religious-based hate crimes this year.

This fact did not sit well with the Progressives and intersectional crowd online.

This turned into a perfect storm of anti-Police hate and anti-Semitism.

See, any and all police presence is bad for People of Color.  The police protecting a highly victimized community is bad when that community is Jews.

Yeah, the black community that is beating up the Jews are the real victims.

Because where there is socialism (the rose emoji) there is Jew-hatred.

The anti-Semitism in the Jew’s fault. They must be doing something. The last two times the self-appointed “leader” of the black community made a statement about the Jews he kicked off a Pogrom in Crown Heights and arson and murder at Freddy’s Fashion Mart.

More of this bullshit.

Because NYC isn’t having a surge of violent attacks against these communities. This is just deflection.

This second piece of shit then doubles down.

The Shomrim are volunteers, they have no power of arrest and cannot carry weapons, even pepper spray or batons. They can do nothing more than call the NYPD and report crimes. But that’s enough protection for the Jews according to her, they don’t need any more of the city’s tax money to protect them.

This isn’t helpful. It’s just racist and hateful.

Then there is this stupid, virtue-signaling fuck:

No, we know who the people assaulting Jews are, we have them on video. They look a lot like the same people who shot up the Jersey City Kosher Market.

Did I ever mention how much I hate Leftist Progressive Jews? Let me say it again. I fucking hate Leftist Progressive Jews. Their woke self-hatred harms the Jewish community. They are a fifth column, destroying the Judaism from within. They are Kapos.

This is the mildest of the Progressive Jewish response. It is disturbingly nieve.

It gets worse.

Her wokeness is going to get more Jews attacked. There is no “compassionate solidarity.” The intersectional solidarity in Jersey City was with the shooters, not the Jews.

This was an article in the Washington Examiner:

Member of Al Sharpton organization defends Jersey City official who said Jews had it coming

Don’t tell me that “solidarity” will stop the violence.

Really, getting the NYPD to protect Jews is a “white nationalist’s dream?”

What the fuck sort of logic is that?  When did white nationalists start to love the Jews?

This is a fucking sickness is what this is.

Then there was this conversation:

Max is virtue-signaling to the max.  He also isn’t Hasidic or Orthodox, so he probably doesn’t go around in a Yarmulke and Tzitiz (the fringes on the prayer shawl).  Since he doesn’t “look Jewish” the attacks are not a problem for him therefore they are not a problem.

What was refreshing was to see at least two people in this thread got it.

That about sums it up.

For the Left, the only good Jew is the victim Jew, either dead or beaten nearly to. Jews protecting themselves or seeking protection stop being good Jews and must be destroyed.

What you are seeing here is unalloyed hatred of visible Jews in New York City.

They are preyed upon and, and when the police are finally ordered to do what they should have been doing all along, the hatred increases.

The message for the mainstream Jewish community should be clear.

Get out of the Blue bubble, the Left and intersectional community hate you.

Buy guns and learn to use them, you will need to defend yourself.

Woke Leftist Jews are your enemy, don’t be that and don’t associate with them.  They will help the Left murder you in the name of the Leftist ideology du jour (before the Left turns on them and murders them once they stop being useful, useful idiots).

Seattle’s trans Woke scolds are human garbage and Mrs. Doubtfire has a very important message

A buddy of mine sent this to me.  From the Seattle Time:

Does ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ at The 5th Ave transcend the original’s problematic elements?

Progressives have to ruin everything.

A man in a dress. That was the central gag of “Mrs. Doubtfire,” the 1993 Robin Williams hit about a hard-luck actor named Daniel Hillard who loses custody of his kids and masquerades as a Scottish nanny to stay in their lives. It was the second-highest-grossing movie of the year, just behind “Jurassic Park.”

But a man in a dress doesn’t cut it as a punch line in 2019 — not without serious and necessary conversations. The new musical adaptation of “Mrs. Doubtfire” at The 5th Avenue Theatre, which features heavy-hitter talent (including Tony Award-winning director Jerry Zaks), is already slated for Broadway, but not without scrutiny and criticism.

This summer, a Change.org petition asked The 5th Ave to cancel the musical altogether, citing the film’s “tired, transphobic tropes.” Though “Mrs. Doubtfire” is not directly about transgender identity, “the central device of the plot, crossdressing as an elaborate ruse, strengthens the assumptions and misjudgments that continue to harm trans women in implicit, pervasive ways,” the petition, started by Seattle-area theater artist Eli Blodgett, says. “As trans theatre-maker and critic Brin Solomon writes, … ‘Because mainstream society, by and large, thinks of trans women as “men in dresses” instead of women, the man-in-a-dress joke perpetuates the idea that trans women are “unnatural” and fit for ridicule and scorn.’”

First of all, the petitioner admits that the character of Daniel Hillard is not transgender or trans-sexual.  So really, there is nothing here that is an attack on the trans community.  Still, this Progressive piece of shit and the human garbage at the Seattle Times needed to make trans-people the victims because 2019.

They feel that “man in a dress doesn’t cut it as a punch line in 2019 — not without serious and necessary conversations.”

So let’s have that serious and necessary conversation.

I haven’t seen the musical, but I have seen the movie, and assuming the plots are similar, that is what I will be discussing here.

This is the original trailer for Mrs. Doubtfire:

Yes, it’s advertised as a light-hearted family comedy starring the hilarious and talented antics of the late, great Robin Williams.

But it’s not a comedy, it’s a melodrama.

Here are some important plot points.

Robin Williams plays Daniel Hillard, who (like the actor playing him) is a voice actor.  He absolutely loves his children, but like many actors, has sporadic employment and money problems.

In the original movie, he quits his job on a children’s cartoon because he doesn’t agree with the script portraying one of the characters smoking a cigarette.

He goes home, unemployed, and throws a birthday party for his youngest daughter, and rents a petting zoo.  When his wife finds out, she confronts him and tells him she wants a divorce, and then reads him a laundry list of his failings as a father.

His shrew bitch of a wife takes him to court, where her lawyer celebrates in the fact that she gets sole custody and he gets to see his children once a week.

It is a heartbreaking scene.

Keep in mind, there was never any allegation of abuse or putting the children at risk, only that he is a temporarily unemployed father, kicked out of his own home.

So what does he do?

He disguises himself as a nanny so that he can see his children after school, after working a soul-crushing, back-breaking day job handling film in a studio archive.

When his ruse is found out, he loses his custody status even further, being limited to supervised visitation.  At the end of the movie, he ends up an actor on a very popular nationwide children’s show he created, based on his Mrs. Doubtfire character.  Then he is allowed joint custody of his children.

So what is the lesson here?

That a loving and absolutely devoted father does not deserve joint custody of his children unless he has full-time employment, to the satisfaction of a humorless scold of a social worker.

It is a movie about the man-hating cruelty of the family court system and how the attorney’s of ex-wives find great satisfaction in punishing a man by taking his children away from him with the force of law.

That’s why he dresses as a woman.  To be able to spend time taking care of his children.

Consider the lesson: that society considers a random female stranger to be more trustworthy with a man’s children than he is.  That a nanny is preferential to a loving father.

The real victim in this story is a loving dad who is temporarily out of work because of his principles.

The trans-Woke scolds want to erase that and claim that this makes the trans community the victims.

Well, guess what?  For that, they can go fuck themselves with a surgically fabricated dick.

And the Progressive future of American housing is 1960s era Soviet Union

I have written about Khrushchyovkabefore.

Those were the concrete pre-fab apartment complexes built in the Soviet Union starting in the 1960s.  They were poorly constructed with minimal amenities.

That’s me being nice.  They were communist shit holes built by a nation that did not care about its people.

I found another video by a Russian living in a Khrushchyovka, and you can see just how low the quality of life is in one.  (The previous post contains other videos from inside Khrushchyovkas)

So why do I bring this up?

This will be the future of housing if the Progressives get their way.

First, from Virginia:

Virginia latest place to make single family zoning ban a political fight

A proposed plan in Virginia to allow extra housing units on single-family lots has become the latest example of local zoning igniting partisan debate, underscoring how housing laws are becoming a bigger and bigger political issue in the midst of the nation’s affordable housing crisis.

The Virginia proposal would not, as critics claim, make single-family homes illegal or mandate any particular type of construction. It would deregulate housing rules and allow property owners to build duplexes in areas where they currently aren’t allowed, a move Samirah and his supporters believe will increase density in a state suffering from the nation’s affordable housing crisis.

Virginia is not the first location to do it.

Minneapolis, Minnesota did this too, with a very telling headline from Politico:

How Minneapolis Freed Itself From the Stranglehold of Single-Family Homes

Oh no, the stranglhold of single-family homes.

Thanks in part to activists like Flisrand and Edwards, Minneapolis just did away with the rules that gave single-family homes a stranglehold on nearly three-quarters of the city. In December, Neighbors for More Neighbors, the group co-founded by Flisrand and Edwards about two years ago to address Minneapolis’ affordable housing crisis, won a victory unseen in any other major American city. The city council approved the Minneapolis 2040 comprehensive plan, which declares the city’s intent to abolish single-family-home zoning and allow duplexes and triplexes to be built anywhere in the city.

Oregon has also jumped on the no-single-family-zoning ban.

Oregon Legislature Votes To Essentially Ban Single-Family Zoning

Oregon is on its way to making a significant change in what housing is allowed to be built in the state.

The state’s House and Senate have now both passed a measure that requires cities with more than 10,000 people to allow duplexes in areas zoned for single-family homes. In the Portland metro area it goes a step further, requiring cities and counties to allow the building of housing such as quadplexes and “cottage clusters” of homes around a common yard.

Now, let’s shift gears over to The Nation:

California’s Fires Prove the American Dream Is Flammable
If we want to keep cities safe in the face of climate change, we need to seriously question the ideal of private homeownership.

But few are discussing one key aspect of California’s crisis: Yes, climate change intensifies the fires—but the ways in which we plan and develop our cities makes them even more destructive. The growth of urban regions in the second half of the 20th century has been dominated by economic development, aspirations of home ownership, and belief in the importance of private property. Cities and towns have expanded in increasingly disperse fashion, fueled by cheap energy. Infrastructure has been built, deregulated, and privatized, extending services in more and more tenuous and fragile ways. Our ideas about what success, comfort, home, and family should look like are so ingrained, it’s hard for us to see how they could be reinforcing the very conditions that put us at such grave risk.

Cheap energy—both the monetary price of subsidized gasoline and the hidden costs of fossil fuels—and the idealization of individual homeownership have created the scorching landscapes we face today. Cheap energy is untenable in the face of climate emergency. And individual homeownership should be seriously questioned.

There are other options, in theory: Rental housing serves many cities around the world well, although we should be wary about perpetuating the power of landlords in this country without delinking ownership from wealth creation. There has been resurgent interest in government-planned and -built public housing, including recent legislation proposed by Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Bernie Sanders that would shore up and invigorate the federal system. The Green New Deal invokes prior eras of government intervention, lending itself to revitalized thinking about the social value of public goods.

Lastly, there is this Tweet from Progressive darling, Ilhan Omar:

As an engineer, I have no idea how to build “no-carbon” housing.

“Social housing” sounds like the Soviet Kommunalki program in which 16 families shared a single apartment.

“Protection from gentrification” sounds like letting neighborhoods turn to slums.  No community has ever stayed stagnant.  Either new money and new investment comes in or it goes out.  If new money and new investment is prohibited from entering a community it will fall to ruin and turn into a slum.  That is guaranteed.

Putting this all together, what do we see.

The Left thinks of housing as a zero-sum game.  They don’t want to expand the suburbs and let people buy homes.  That is bad for the environment and promotes inequity.

They want people packed chock-a-block in high-density urban areas.   That requires doing away with single-family homes and the American dream.  Instead, people have to live in apartments and multiple-family housing units.

They also want to expand public housing.

People do not take care of what they own.  This is the Tragedy of the Commons.

Eventually all of these places will turn to shit.  This is the history of Chicago’s infamous Cabrini-Green housing project.

Eventually, this will result in doing what the Soviets did when they forced people to live in high density living in planned urban areas, the building of Khrushchyovka.

There is just too much evidence that this is the direction the Left is going with housing to ignore it.

Unpossible good shoot in California

From Fox News:

California veteran shoots robbery suspect who pistol-whipped him at market

A U.S. Air Force veteran working as a clerk in a northern California market shot and killed a robbery suspect Sunday after the perp clocked him in the head with his gun, according to reports.

Surveillance video captured the moment two armed, masked robbery suspects stormed Kam’s Market in Bay Point, Calif., located in the San Francisco Bay area around 11 p.m. The footage shows one suspect approach Mark Kasbrowicz behind the register and hit him in the head with his gun, knocking him to the ground. As the suspect loaded cash into his bag, Kasbrowicz managed to get up and grab the store’s gun out of a drawer.

The situation escalated when the masked man noticed Kasbrowicz was armed. He began to beat Kasbrowicz until one of the guns went off, causing him to flee the store. That’s when Kasbrowicz fired at him.

The suspect who attacked Kasbrowicz collapsed in the parking lot and died from the gunshot wound, reports said. The second suspect managed to run out of the store and escape. Kasbrowicz received 17 staples in the head after the incident. Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office said Kasprowicz acted in self-defense and is continuing to search for the second man who fled the scene.

Video here:

I’m amazed that Kasprowicz isn’t going to prison.

Doesn’t he know that it’s legal in the San Francisco bay area to steal up to $950?  Also, he’s got job privilege and the armed robbers are clearly the victims of a capitalist society.  They were just redistributing that store owner’s wealth.

Also, if Kam’s Market was law-abiding, why did they have a gun and did Kasprowicz have all the right paperwork and pass all the necessary universal background checks when it took it?

Don’t worry.  There will be protests and demands for this clerk’s head.  Justice will be served for the dead robber.

They can’t have hard-working citizens shooting the criminals that attack them, otherwise, the city won’t have the criminal and vagrant population it needs to keep sucking money out of people to line the pockets of the homeless-industrial complex.

Without that, San Francisco homeless activists won’t be able to pay for trans-gender strippers at their annual luncheon the way Seattle does.  And we all know, San Francisco won’t let itself come in second to any other city when it comes to supporting trans-gender strippers.
