It’s insane. A huge break in happens, he calls police, they never come. Happens again a few times, they reply many days late. On the 8th time yesterday a few officers show up and say they can’t do anything. Security cam footage looks like one of the perps might have had a gun.

SF is at a 300 officer deficit of “full time” police. And the far left voices on the Board of Supervisors have added so much new paperwork that officers spend hours filing out forms for every police-civilian interaction that most don’t even bother doing basic police work.

The police are incapable of doing any regarding residential theft.

There are too few of them, and if they do anything they are bogged down in paperwork while the city attorneys dismiss the charges against the criminals.

Nobody give a shit about the innocent people who get hurt.

When the government cannot protect people from crime, the people will do it themselves.

I should say that I don’t support necklacing thieves and gang members, but I absolutely do.

Given the huge numbers of videos we’ve seen of looting and shoplifting, and articles about retailers shutting down stores due to loss, perhaps necklacing thieves will be more of a deterrent than the feckless law enforcement and judicial systems.

Maybe when a few dozen thieves and looters end up in the middle of a tire fire in a city street, the government might actually do something to curb the crime.

I was up far too late for yesterday’s post, around 0200. Which was better than the night before when I was up until 0330 getting that post out.

One thought it occurred to me a bit ago. The other annoying equipment issue I had was the GI sling adjustment every time we did the Standing Position drill. It takes a lot of time to adjust the sling in the loop and then having to undo everything to do set it back to a traditional configuration. I will buy another just to have it normal and exchange with the looped sling whenever the class requires it.
