WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A briefing meant to show off the good in New York City may have cast a not-so-good light on the Midwest.
NYC Mayor Eric Adams briefed the media on Tuesday about his recent trips to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. He said in both locations, he said the people welcomed him because they recognized New York City and its “brand,” something he said a place like Kansas lacks.
“We have a brand. And when people see it, it means something,” said Mayor Adams. “You know when we go there…Kansas doesn’t have a brand. When you go there, okay, you’re from Kansas. But New York has a brand, and that brand means diversity,” the mayor continued.

NYC definition of “diversity “- we have a wide variety of criminals committing a wide variety of crime…. Given the choice I will take Kansas tornadoes ove nyc crime. mayor had to go to Kansas to grasp at straw…
Was hoping someone was gonna seize on that comment. Typical coastal……we really need a different word than elites so can this be brain trusted out to ya’ll? I certainly don’t consider them to be elite. Anywho typical coastal jackwagon opinion that the rest of the country doesnt matter.
When I meet someone and they say they’re from the Alabama, (most of) Florida, Dakotas, so on I know what to expect. When someone is from New York I also know what to expect and typically it ain’t good.
Now I kind of want to commission an honest to reality logo for New York’s actual “brand” as the rest of the country sees it.
I’d call it more of a reputation than a brand.

How do you know somebody is from New York City? They’ll say something is better there within 30 seconds of meeting you.
And I always tell them “why dont you go back and stay there then.”
