As I recall, Trayvon Martin was a not so little wannabe thug that hid and jumped the wrong guy. He got his stupid idea prize and a jury confirmed the obvious.
It was nothing but a woke malicious politically motivated (persecution) prosecution. It was clearly a case of self defense i.e. “stand your ground” from the get go.
I guess you can fool some of the people all of the time. What a bunch of dolts!

Two separate things, sir. SYG generally means that there is no duty to retreat. That was not offered by the dfenbse team. Just reguklar ol. self-defense in response to a deadly attack.
Noted, my bad, misspoke. Self defense and SYG are often linked here in Florida. In keeping with SYG, George Zimmerman had a legal right to be where he was and no duty to retreat, leave, or “stay in his car” as the police dispatcher suggested or instructed as the case may be. No doubt in any rational mind that it was clearly a case of self defense.

Stand your Ground (more accurately called No Duty to Retreat) had nothing to do with the Trayvon Mmartin – George Zimmerman trial. George Zimmerman was on his back, pinned to the ground by Trayvon Martin who was straddling him and hitting him as confirmed by at least one witness and the forensic evidence. Zimmerman had no ability to retreat, and so SYG or Duty to Retreat never entered into it.
I discovered Andrew Branca through his analysis posted on Willian Jacobson’s Blog “Legal Insurrection.” I suggest everyone go to his website and get his book on the Laws of Self Defense. He explains SYG, Duty to Retreat, and the principles of self defence.

Initially, when George Zimmerman was following Trayvon Martin, he could have disengaged and withdrawn but had no obligation to do so.
