1: she has to mouth pieties to the radical LGBT+ community and acknowledge that men and non-binary people can give birth too. The British NHS also use this language too.
2: in Europe where paid leave is set by law, companies don’t pay that. That money comes from the government like federal unemployment does in the US, and it’s usually set at about 55% of salary. Forcing private business to pay women 6 months or more of salary for maternity leave would make them either go bankrupt or not hire women.
3: I would propose a “social security” offset for leave. I.e., a woman can collect social security for a year for maternity leave but that moves her retirement age back one year. For most women, they might use that only one or two times.
Does she mean that if puppies can be removed from their mother and sold after six weeks, that children can be removed from their mother and sold after six months? On the other hand, I don’t see a big market for six month old children.
