UBER FIREARMS PROHIBITION POLICY We seek to ensure that everyone using the Uber digital platform—both driver-partners and riders—feels safe and comfortable using the service. During a ride arranged through the Uber platform, Uber and its affiliates therefore prohibit possessing firearms of any kind in a vehicle. Any rider or driver found to have violated this prohibition may lose access to the Uber platform.

And remember, Uber drivers are independent contractors, something happens and you cannot sue Uber HQ. Like the old carny saying: You pays your money and you take your chances.

I am rethinking my use of it. I pray my driver is armed. It could save my life. As for policies against me being armed, I say FU Uber. I will not comply.

CA’s ruling that the drivers are employees tenuous at the least, in my opinion. But hey, it’s California.
Wasn’t there an incident in Chicago where an ARMED Uber Driver took out a gunman that was shooting into a crowd?

If I remember correctly, Domino’s dropped their 30 minute guarantee when a driver successfully sued the company after an accident while trying to comply with the mandated time limit. If an Uber driver is injured while compiling with this no weapons policy, would he not have a similar argument that the company’s mandate put him in jeopardy, since it removes his choice to be armed or not.
Uber just made their drivers sitting ducks. The Charleston gun free church that made its parishioners into sitting ducks, and countless other gun-free zone shootings apparently don’t count for a company that wants to make its drivers and clients “FEEL” safe. Well, it’s their company, and they are free to decide what policies they enforce. It’s my life and I will not be using them.
