Post Christmas Sale Humor

I went to the mall with my wife to see what was on post Christmas sale.  We’re wandering around when we come across a store with a name I recognize as a high end retailer.  We go in and I ask to see one of their fine items, at which point the woman behind the counter looks at me (as one of my friends would say) “like I have a dick growing out of the center of by forehead” and my wife makes a noise indicated her displeasure at taking me out in public once again.

I love my wife, but we are two different people.

Apparently I was thinking this:

When to the rest of the civilized world, Swarovski means this:

Liberal self reliance

I’m on vacation.  I’ll get back to longer posts here soon.  In the mean time…

My sister showed me this video.  It is of some of the BuzzFeed twerps using knives.

It is an orgy of evidence reinforcing every negative stereotypes about Liberals.

Two of them look like they majored in Precolonial Trans-Gender Cave Paintings, and neither of them can wield a knife like they have ever used a tool in their lives.  One fully admits that she (looking like she would get mad at me if I assumed her gender and pronoun) “don’t use knives very often.”

These are hands used to doing nothing more than tweeting about microagressions from an iPhone.

Whatever tool using genes our Homo Habilis ancestors put into us, liberals have effectively bred out of themselves.

I’m actually embarrassed for them.

Vigilance

BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS.

I starting with the moral of the story here.

St. Louis, Missouri State Representative-Elect Bruce Franks, Jr. was robbed at gunpoint after a Christmas party.  The robbers got his car, cellphone, and handgun.

State Representative-Elect Bruce Franks, Jr., a Democrat, has a concealed carry permit, when the robbers stole his car, they got away with the gun he had left in it.

Franks did not try to fight off the robbers because:

I looked up and the guy had a gun and he told me to get out. I got out and he pointed a gun at me and told me, ‘Get the hell out of here.’  If I reached for a gun, and he already has a gun pointed at me, that’s more reason for him to shoot me.

I’ll give him that.  When you already have a gun pointed at you, trying your best quick draw may not be the smartest idea.

The thing is, it shouldn’t have gotten that far.  Franks was sitting in his car making a phone call when the robbers approached his car.  Where Franks made his mistake, and it was an easy mistake to make, was that he stopped being aware of his surroundings while making his call.  He didn’t see the two guys approach his car.  He didn’t see them make any obvious signs that they were up to no good.

Really, he shouldn’t have taken the call from inside his car in the parking lot of a bar.  He should have tried to find a quiet space inside to make his call.

Concealed carry or not, the greatest weapon your have in your arsenal is situational awareness.

I’ve head stories of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan who developed almost a spider sense about IEDs and Ambushes, because they started to notice evidence in their surroundings that suggested something bad was about to happen and to avoid the area.

Don’t let yourself get so distracted that you drop your guard.   Know what is going on around you.

On a side note.  I’m relaying this story as a lesson about situational awareness.  I don’t want to make fun of State Rep-elect Franks.  I’ve been reading about him and what I’ve read I liked.

He’s a Democrat, a black Democrat, that is an advocate for concealed carry.  He is an advocate for improved police/community relations (something near and dear to my heart), not the typical anti-cop attitude that is going around the Left now.  He is an advocate for a group called 28 to Life which seeks to end gun violence by getting to the root cause of the issues in poor (and mostly black) communities such as education and youth employment opportunities.  He seems to recognize that the violence in St. Louis is not an issue with guns, but an issue with gangs.

This is the type of person we want on our side.  A moderate Democrat with ties to the community who wants to help and not blame guns and law abiding gun owners for violence.  This is the type of representative that will help us build bridges with the other side.

If Franks keeps to his platform and promises, I wish him the best.

I also hope his gets his gun back.  The criminals who have it might as well just turn it into the police right now.  A gun stolen from a state representative is going to be radioactive in the Show Me State.

And it’s gone…

Unbeknownst to me, the National Endowment for the Arts gave $10,000 to a theater company to put on a play about two special snowflakes fighting gun rights.

NEA funding for 2017 has been announced and it is full of more funding for special snowflakes to push their special snowflake ideas in art that is too unpalatable to turn a profit in the real world.

In 2016, the NEA appropriated almost $148 million dollars to crap like this.  I know in terms of money, that is not a lot for the Federal Government to spend, but I don’t care.  Artists have become nuisance animals.  All they do is eat the efforts of your hard work and shit in your yard.

If I am ever elected president, on my very first day in office I am going to redirect 100% of the NEA’s funding to NASA, DARPA, the VA, or just spend it on an epic 4th of July fireworks display over the White House.  Anything more useful than what the NEA spends its money on now.

Most Special Snowflakes Ever

Cocks Not Glocks was so proud to be featured in an AJ+ video, that they bragged about it on their Facebook page.

AJ+ is an internet news and OpEd outlet that is part of the Al Jazeera Media Network.  The video, and I mean this honestly, is a good video, reasonably balanced, and eye opening.

It interviews two students and a profesor at the University of Texas at Austin.  One student is an advocate for Texas Campus Carry, the other is the co-founder of Students Against Campus Carry and a participant in Cocks Not Glocks.  The professor is anti campus carry.

The video does address that campus carry applies only to people 21 years and older, it requires a Texas CCW which mandates training, and that open carry would still be banned on Texas campuses.

Pro Tip: when Al Jazeera is the voice of reason and moderation, your argument sucks.

Compare the statements made by the pro campus carry student to the anti campus carry student and professor.

Pro gun:

Anti gun:

And the professor:

The pro gun student makes the argument that mass shootings tend to take place in gun free zones because the shooters want to inflict mass casualties, not get into gunfights.  All he wants is the right to protect himself and follow the law.

The anti gun student and professor have feelings.  They feel scared.  They feel worried.  They feel like their freedom of expression is being threatened.

For the record, your First Amendment right to freedom of speech is a protection from government oppression.  Social Justice Warriors are the first to remind you that the First Amendment doesn’t apply to private individuals when a bunch of heckling crybabies get someone fired from their job because they said something that Snowflakes don’t like.  That these Snowflakes are claiming that they are scared to speak freely because they are afraid that someone might get angry and shoot them, isn’t a First Amendment violation.

The professor tries to fall back on an un-sourced claim that no CCW permit holder with only 4 hours minimum training ever stopped a mass shooter.  What she doesn’t have, because if she did I know she’d of mentioned it, is any evidence that a CCW permit holder has ever shot someone in a classroom for voicing their opinion or turning a mass shooting into an OK Corral bloodbath.

At the end of the day, all she has is feelings.

Also, the idea of training being a benchmark of quality is just an appeal to authority.  Police get training, and we all know how bad the NYPD shoots – 84 times and hit the perp once, but hitting nine bystanders.  Nice shootin’ Tex!  That young man from the video may only have 4 hours of training, but has been shooting since he was “4 or 5 years old.”  There is training and there is experience.  But experience doesn’t come with the magic fairy dust of government approval, so the Left doesn’t accept it.

One one side you have facts, training, experience, and the desire to defend oneself and abide by the law.

On the other you have feelings and big rubber penises.

That is all these Special Snowflakes have, feelings.

It seems though that the winds of change are blowing and feelings are no longer the political currency that they once were.  I don’t know which I would enjoy more, to be able to CCW my M9 and AAC Ti-Rant 9 across state lines or the epic butthurt of these Special Snowflakes.

Civil Rights Hypocrisy

I’ve never been a big fan of the platitude motivator.  You know what I’m talking about, the picture of some famous person  captioned by some bromide they uttered.  Everytown and Moms Demand Action love posting these trite banalities on their Facebook pages.

Two of the ones they posted have rankled me because of just how off base they are.  Everytown and MDA normally turn a blind eye to history, but in these cases, they’ve really outdone themselves with their own obtuseness.

Rosa Parks was a civil right hero.  She was known for starting the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which was one of the most high profile non-violent movements against segregation in the United States, after she was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white person.

Lets remind ourselves of a few facts in this episode of history.  The bus Rosa Parks was on was a Montgomery, Alabama municipal bus, part of the city’s public transportation system.  She was arrested for violating the law, which demanded that she as a black person, had to sit in the back of the bus or stand, to make room for white people to sit at the front of the bus.

Who was the bad guy in this story?  The government.  It was the law that it was illegal for blacks and whites to sit in the same row in a bus.  It was the law that forced blacks to stand or move back to make room for whites.  It was the city employee bus driver who called the police and it was the police who arrested Rosa Parks.  It was the government that systematically violated the 14th Amendment to the Constitution in creating a segregated busing system and punished people for using it.

Chief Sitting Bull was a holy man in the Lakota Nation of The Dakota Territory.  Chief Sitting Bull was most famous for taking up arms and leading the Lakota in the Sioux War of 1876, most notably, in defeating the 7th Calvary at the Battle of Little Big Horn.

The Lakota and other plains Indians were systematically oppressed, slaughtered, and forced onto reservations.  Sitting Bull’s people were being exterminated, which is why he fought back.  The Lakota, armed with a motley assortment of privately acquired firearms as well as traditional Indian weapons, managed to defeat the trained and better equipped 7th Calvary, who had cannons and Gatling guns, and was under the command of Civil War veteran (and general at the time) Colonel George Custer.

In every way defined by Everytown and MDA, Chief Sitting Bull was an insurrectionist.  The Indians were disarmed when they were put onto the reservations.  They obtained guns (mostly broken ones that they repaired) through trade and by finding ones left behind.  Several Indians were armed with Henry lever action rifles, which compared to the US Army issue 1873 Trapdoor rifle, was the assault rifle of the day – having a rapid fire capability, shooting a cartridge smaller than a full side rifle, and having a high magazine capacity.  Of course, the Indians should have never been successful going up against the Army.

But again, who was the bad guy in this story?  The US Government, oppressing a minority of people.

Here, Everytown and MDA like to style themselves after civil rights heroes Rosa Parks and Chief Sitting Bull, but in reality they are more like James F. Blake (the Montgomery bus river that called the cops on Rosa Parks) and  Colonel Custer.  Everytown and MDA want to use the power of the government to deny the Constitutionally protected civil liberties of American Citizens.

Everytown and MDA are oppressors claiming to be civil rights activists and insurrectionists.  Their hypocracy would be funny if it wasn’t so dangerous.
