RIVERVIEW (FOX 13) –
Hillsborough deputies arrested a man who spotted someone with a gun, followed him into a Walmart, and tackled him. The problem? The man with the gun had a concealed weapons permit, and the man who rushed him didn’t call 911 or alert store security.

According to the sheriff’s office, Michael Foster, 43, saw Clarence Daniels, 62, in the Walmart parking lot with a gun holstered under his coat.

Foster followed Daniels into the store, put him in a choke-hold and brought him to the ground, the sheriff’s office said. He then started yelling that Daniels had a gun

And Mr. Foster is lucky Mr. Daniels is only 62; in Florida you get an automatic charge enhancement for crimes against people 65 years of age and older. In his case, instead of a misdemeanor, he would get a felonious charge, maybe aggravated assault on the elderly.

  1. Yep, race won’t even be considered a factor here because “Progressive”.

    Also I wonder if you’ve seen Mr. Foster lurking in the CSGV Facebook page. I mean they call for this behavior CONSTANTLY, it’s only a matter of time before some yahoo does it!

  2. The only way this scenario could have been improved (from an entertainment perspective) would be if the “gunman” this idiot tackled was an off-duty cop.

  5. Following someone with a gun into the store and tackling them without bothering to call 911? Sounds more like a petson looking for a way to become a “hero” – especially when there has been so much success in SWATing at WalMart (/sarcasm).

    The move was bone-headed to begin with but the motivation behind it really needs to be brought out into the light.

But if your a cult member attacking someone that is just protecting your fellow walmart shoppers.   8. It is abundantly clear that the blubbering morons at the CSGV love them selves some violence, just as long as it is not gun violence, except when it is gun violence dished out by people with badges.

  9. So clearly if we found one of these idiots, put them in a choke-hold, and started shouting that they had a gun, they would defend our right to do so?

    Attacking someone who has made no aggressive actions is assault no matter how you frame it. Daniels would have been well within his rights to shoot Foster.

    1. According to dozens of comments on that page, yes. The majority of their supporters are stating that the assault was justified and numerous others state that the firearm owner should have been shot as a ‘threat’ under ‘stand your ground’ laws.

      Just goes to show another reason to carry.

      1. So basically, they’re saying it should be legal to kill someone because of something they’re wearing.

        Not because they DID SOMETHING or even TALKED ABOUT DOING SOMETHING, but because they’re WEARING SOMETHING.

        This is so far beyond stupid, I’m getting stupider by the moment just thinking about it.
