The Grey Man Vignettes

I enjoy a twisted plot, techno thrillers and gotcha books for entertainment. The Gray Man is not that.

But what I did find is a very enjoyable, kick-your-shoes-off, coffee-cup-next-to-you, back porch-relaxing reading book that I read almost straight from beginning to end in one sitting.

I started the book right after I finished re-reading Larry Correia’s & Mike Kupari’s Dead Six so I was afraid that it would color my perception of The Gray Man, but we are talking two different ideas: while one is tactical tri-dimensional chess with lasers and explosions, the other is a ornery frontier-like, Mesquite-smoked checkers where you know your opponent has you by the short ones before you moved the first piece and he is smiling about it.  I finished the book with a wicked smile and wondering where the story will go from here and when Jim is gonna finish the next book.

Disconnect your electronic devices, pour your favorite poison, get in your comfy chair and get to read it.  Available in Kindle and Dead Tree.

  1. I thought that the section where the Grey Man got all choked up over shooting his own son because Chupacabra was eating him was a bit maudlin, myself. 🙂

  2. Thank you sir, I’m hoping ‘this’ comment posts… OCONUS and with a lousy connection
