  1. Ugh…I’m not a GLOCK fanboi in the least, but that still makes me sad.

I’ve always wondered if that, in part has contributed to the abysmal shooting of the NYPD.

  2. I don’t know if they make it anymore, but the original NY trigger was developed for the NY State Police, not NYPD, and it raised the trigger weight from about 3.5 pounds (factory weight) to about 5 pounds, if I recall correctly. It also got rid of most of the bump in the factory two-stage trigger when it went from about 1.5 lbs. for the first part of its travel to 3.5 for the last .125 inch or so. I had one installed in my duty Glock 17 in 1989. (Looks like they now come from the factory with the original NY trigger, based on the weights on that spec sheet.)
That 11-lb. trigger sure didn’t help that rookie in the stairwell, and it didn’t help the cops at the Empire State Building, either. Think NYPD will rethink their policy?
    Me neither.

      1. Were they required to have a hollow tooth filled with cyanide, too? ‘Cause those’d probably be about as effective at stopping bad guys.

I mean yeah, there’s a place for DAO revolvers, but…

No, actually, the NYPD have enough of a lawless history, they’re welcome to underequip themselves. When evil is fighting evil and being stupid about it, you grab some popcorn and stay out of the way.
