Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. I expect that by the time Government gets around to stripping them of their rights to free speech, press, and assembly, I will already be dead courtesy of the disarmament. A pity, really, for I would so love to laugh in their faces upon that most rueful day.

  2. They did it so that people could SHOOT BACK when people such as John Russell Houser tried to go on a rampage.

Nothing says “no” like 125 grains of copper-jacketed lead at 1400 feet per second.(or 200 grains of copper-jacketed lead at 1000 feet per second. Or 300 grains of lead at 2000 feet per second.)

      1. It’s preventative, too! No assailant who gets the message is likely to ever commit assault again in the future. That’s better than you can say for pooping yourself.

  3. I do think that people who are mentally ill or unstable shouldn’t be allowed to own a gun if possible. Thanks for posting.

    1. The problem we have no is like w/ the VA and SS. They’re defining ‘mentally ill’ as loose as they can including signing up for direct deposit of benefits.

There is no ‘reasonable, common-sense, compromise’ they will not abuse to decrease legal firearm ownership in any way they can.

  4. A gun free zone worked again… Against those folks. Criminals WON’T obey laws. They refuse to grasp that ‘minor’ point, and continue to point the finger at US as being the problem…

  5. And G.W. also fought the war so the press could use only a Gutenberg style press and a box to cry from the town square… Sure… Our founding fathers couldn’t imagine a laser printer or the Internet… The first amendment is outdated… Get rid of it unless it’s only used in its original intent!

  6. They keep talking about how shocked our founding fathers would be if they saw today’s violence. Maybe so, but not in the sense they are thinking given that 18th century murder rates were 5x what they are today.

    1. Actually, considering that they revolted over a tax (and a relatively low one by today’s standards), and they set up a self governing nation with a constitution and all sorts of protections against tyranny, I think they’d be more shocked at how far we’ve fallen and how quickly, and wondering why the hell we haven’t risen up again and fed the tree of liberty as proscribed.
