So we have what appears to be a Straw Man transaction that sent straight from the store to the criminal underworld and yet, somehow CSGV figures that if UBCs were in place, maybe two gangbangers would suddenly decided to run background checks on each other and interrupt the sale because you know, they are felons and they would not dare break the law. I mean, murdering each other, dealing drugs, rape, etc all those are OK to do, but not perform a background check on a private transaction? Nevah!
And do notice that there is not outrage for the straw sale itself. You have to love their selective outrage.
I swear these people breathe because it is an autonomic bodily function. If it required any amount of logical thought, they would die reading the instructions.
Since the original buyer admitted passing the gun to a gang member, was he arrested for the straw purchase? That’s a federal felony worth 5 years.

Yep known straw buyer, already a crime. Private transfer of out-of-state firearm, Federal crime.

Possession of ammunition without a Mass LTC: Massachusetts crime
Carrying of a firearm without a Mass LTC: Massachusetts crime
Not to mention all those other crimes of buying fireworks across state lines, making them into bombs, and blowing up other people with them, plus the whole “consorting with the Enemy” when dealing with the terror cells these guys rubbed elbows with.
Yep, but one more law not only would have kept them from acquiring this gun, but probably kept them from the bombing too….BECAUSE MAGIC!!!

So….lets focus on the shooting of two cops (not to diminish this, my sympathy and prayers went out to the families of the two and wishes for full and speedy recovery to the cop not killed), and totally ignore the scores who were killed, wounded, maimed, injured, and/or otherwise traumatized by the bombs set off? Oh, that’s right….selective outrage based on emotional Pavlovian response towards an inanimate object. Because…..emotion, not fact or logic.
