Florida Rep. Charlie Crist (D), who’s vying to unseat the Governor, recently criticized DeSantis, calling his administration an “authoritarian regime.”
Since announcing his reelection, DeSantis has vowed: “to take on 4 more years of defending freedom!”
Warning that “Florida’s future is hanging in the balance,” Crist is one of three Democrats that is also looking to make a difference in the Sunshine state.
Over the weekend, the former governor of Florida took part in a virtual conference with Protect Our Care Florida, which advertised the Build Back Better Plan.

Even though Florida was forecasted to be the worst state affected by the Wuhan Flu, it never happened that way and even is now with infection rates much lower that fully Fauci-eske Ruling. The state has been open to business and restrictions promptly removed, jobs are available and people are going back to work. Public places are open with few or no restrictions. Vaccines and COVID treatments are available to those who want them and the only “undue” influence from the State’s executive is that he recommends you take the jab or get the Monoclonal Antibody Treatment Therapy if you contracted the Chink Flu. You want to wear a mask? Fine. You don’t want to wear a mask? So be it. I believe that is called Freedom of Choice only to be found in selected dictatorial countries according to Charlie Crist.
Incidentally, you would be hard pressed to see a Florida Democrat wearing a mask anywhere in the state. Kinda hypocritical after all the grief they gave the Governor calling him #DeathSantis for not following the Gospel According to Fauci and the CDC.
And the only negatives are the ones brought by the fuck ups of the Federal government, namely gas prices.

It’s perfectly ordinary Newspeak: just as “Fascist” means “not Communist”, “authoritarian” means “not totalitarian”.
Or in this case “authoritarian” means “not authoritarian.”
The guy who talks freedom, self determination and responsibility for yourself and others constantly and consistently is authoritarian?

Not so much opposites, as an extreme case of the Overton Window being all the way to the left. Slightly right of Communist or Totalitarian is Fascist or Authoritarian, and anything beyond that is simply inconceivable, so it all gets the same label. Hence, Milton Friedman is indistinguishable from Hitler.
Projection more than opposites day. Whenever leftists fascists say something negative about conservatives, it usually means that’s what they are either thinking or doing. Racism, yep the party of Jim Crow and the clan pushing for reparations and for “diversity” in hiring because they don’t think black people are smart enough to make in on their own. Authoritarian, yep the party of vaccine mandates, mask mandates, and big tech censorship of dissenting opinions wants to control every aspect of your life.
Charlie Crist is as bad as Hilary, he just won’t go away.
The Oompa Loompa turns my stomach. He can’t talk without lying. His photo should be in the dictionary by the definition of “worthless politician.” He has no standards; he says whatever he believes will gain favor and power. I loathe him more than the other worthless, hypocritical politicians on the Left because he was once a worthless, hypocritical politician on the Right. The man can flip-flop with the best of them.
Wasn’t Charlie a Republican In Name Only at one time? I think he is still butt hurt that Florida Republicans kicked his butt to the gutter.

If memory serves, Charlie left the Republican Party after losing the Senate primary because those darn racist teabaggers preferred some Cuban to the old white guy they were supposed to vote for. Or something to that effect.
Yes, Crist was a Rino before becoming a demonrat. He solely made Rick Scott look good in comparison.
And, like any good STD, he just won’t go away.
