No explanation attached to the video. I am guessing ammo that was unsafe for whatever reason and by the looks of the cases already spent, it has to be some big caliber as in long gun or crew served weapon, very possibly Russian.
Somebody commented that it was the Devil’s Popcorn machine. Sounds about right.

It shows the danger (or actually lack thereof) from burning ammunition or dropped ammunition in order to teach firemen how to react when handling a gun shop fire.
Thousands of rounds destroyed but very instructive.
Also very helpful if the antis want to play the “ZOMG!! ammunition is going to blow up like Littly Boy over Hiroshima!!!” card.
Not to mention the chimney effect that containment vessel created. Except for loose powder most folks store their ammo out in the open. Lots of pops and hardly enough ballistic energy to dent cardboard when that stuff goes “off” in an open fire.

I remember about a cache of ammo being found at the bottom of a lake in Brazil few months ago. I wonder if this is of that ammo being destroyed.
