Detroiters who lived through decades of ultra liberal administrators (mostly because they kept voting for them, but that’s not important now) suddenly realized the city’s main law enforcement official was advocating gunfire as the most practical solution to the Motor City’s runaway crime rate. If Joe Arpaio had parachuted into Grand Circus Park with a bullhorn and a case of Mini 14s, the message could not have been any clearer—or driven liberals any crazier: The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun was still a good guy with a gun.

I was raised 60 miles from Detroit and I can remember being told to stay away. From 63 and especially after the 67 riots, Detroit was a shit hole. Voting for these liberal idiot pisswits is what causes this and yet they just keep on voting for them.
Chief Craig is to be commended for trying to do something about crime besides standing around wailing and hand wringing.

I was born (1957) and raised 2 miles north of Detroit. My father (born 1912) wasn’t particularly political even though he voluntarily enlisted for duty during WW2. He wasn’t much of a gun guy either (though he gave me his fathers’ pre-war Win 70 super-grade on my 21st birthday)
Pop saw the graffiti on the wall (as well as the broken windows, the shootings,the violence, and the businesses ruined). He sold the small company that he owned on six-mile, quit his other full-time job, retired early, and drove us to AZ in 1970.
As it happens, Joe Arpaio has been my county sheriff for many years…small world. Some people don’t get it, and never will.
