Taurus continues its tradition of increasingly shoddy firearms with the recall of 98,000 24/7s in .40 S&W in the hands of Brazil’s Military Police.
The reason? The gun will go off by just shaking them.
I just wonder how many accidental discharges happened during carnival with all the samba dancing.

I catch one of my guns going off without my finger on the trigger, I’m never touching it again except to sell it.
(or take it to a gunsmith and say “It goes off without my finger on the trigger. Fix, plz.”)
I’ve been a Taurus fan for years, years, and more years. I did have a 605 revolver I bought new and had trouble with, the transfer bar wouldn’t come up reliably to transmit the force from the hammer to the firing pin causing failure to fire. I got with Taurus and sent it back, they fixed it along with some nice polishing touches here and there, no issues. They were very gracious about it, didn’t give me any grief. As for the other Tauruses I’ve had, never a problem. Each one has been incredibly reliable. I even got my brother a .40 cal Millennium last Christmas. Likely it’s a flaw with that particular design, anyone with a 24/7 needs to look into this issue.

With 98000 of these issued, all it would take is for a few officers who fancy themselves to be smiths to do some “trigger work” and cause their guns to do this. What is Portuguese for “Bubba”?
