I suspect the regime doesn’t want to jettison him because if they do, it’s a tacit admission that, at the very least, ‘the emergency is over’ and they have to stop stepping on people’s lives.
Worse, if they dump him too roughly, what happens if he talks and says something inconvenient?

This started out as a fight against the pandemic to save the people, and has turned into a fight against the people to save the pandemic.
Fauci is going to be the face of the government “fight” against the panicdemic until he chooses to retire. And, the news will continue to print his name (and picture, as if anyone does not already know what he looks like already???) until the government no longer needs him.
Besides… He “hopes” the booster shot will help? Hopes?
