The European Jewish Association (EJA), which represents Jewish communities across Europe, says that gun license laws must be altered following a string of deadly attacks on Jews in France and other European countries, where anti-Semitism has been growing at an alarming rate.
The recent attacks, including one on a Kosher market that killed four, “have revealed the urgent need to stop talking and start acting” in a way that empowers Europe’s Jews, according to a letter sent Tuesday by EJA General Director Rabbi Menachem Margolin to EU leaders.
The EU, which has enacted very stringent gun control laws, should empower and train Jews to be proficient with guns in order to maintain their safety, according to Margolin.
“The Paris attacks, as well as the many challenges and threats which have been presented to the European Jewish community in recent years, have revealed the urgent need to stop talking and start acting,” Margolin writes.

Chances of this happening run about the bottom of the Kelvin scale so we will see more attacks and more Jews leaving Europe.
We can use more Jews in Miami. And one of these days I have to go to a Jewban synagogue.
America isn’t perfect, but we allow people the tools to defend themselves.

This is the same reason I’ve never understood why gun control laws are so tight in Israel. I get that they are loosening them, but one of the biggest reasons I have never sought my right of return is that since I can’t join the IDF (medically unfit and too old), I can’t get an Israeli handgun permit.

Yes, it’s probable that some folks are going to die in a Charlie Hebdo/Mumbai/Westgate Mall (Nairobi, Kenya) attack. But I guess the folks in the EU, and the SWC especially, have never heard of “But if saves only one child!”
Please do not allow the European Jews to come to America. Not because I dislike Jews but because they are all hoplophobes and we have enough here already. When Jews pick up weapons to defend themselves it becomes world news (Masada, Warsaw Ghetto) and sadly it is usually too few of them acting too late.

After tweeting about this yesterday, someone wanted to know why just the Jews. Like I told him, thin end of the wedge. Maybe a taste of the freedom of self reliance can spur the rest on.
But then I thought, Europe. And had my doubts.
