Athena Adkins, a volunteer with Moms Demand Action – MN, shares office space with the law firm where the man worked.
“My friend and colleague was murdered yesterday in my office. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his co-workers,” said Adkins.
“We never think it will be our community, our workplace, the people we know – and then suddenly it is. I am in shock from what happened and I am angry.”
According to the news item, the shooting occurred at North Star Criminal Defense which is at 370 Selby Ave #207, St Paul, MN 55102. According to her Linkedin profile, Athena Adkins is the president of Adkins Consulting Group, LLC and even though the website does not have an address, one record was found indicating they are at 1718 Lincoln Ave, St Paul, Minnesota, 55105. So the addresses are different from the get-go, but maybe the building has two entrances facing different streets, who knows, right? So I consulted Google Maps:
I am guessing the new definition of office space comprises the full metro area of a city for the Goal-Post-Changers at Everytown/Moms Demand. But since they have been already stretching other definitions like Mass Murders and School Shootings to include just about anything they want it to be, the new office space concept is not something to be surprised they are trying to pull.
At least they do it with flair.
I went to look at her Twitter feed and came across this. Apparently, her husband is a lawyer in the firm and *he* is the one who shares office space, not her.

So it is a case of Proxy Shared Space. Sort of The Joan Peters’ “Being a victim of Gun Violence” but it was a relative who was actually injured or killed.

I looked up this story in the St. Paul paper and found this,
“The shooting was reported just after 4 p.m. in the Dacotah Building at 370 Selby Ave.
The victim was Chase Passauer, a 23-year-old clerk in the North Star Criminal Defense law firm housed in the Dacotah Building. Passauer lived in Minneapolis.”

And came up with this for the Adkins group. So they seem to at least be in the same building. I still think it’s pretty disingenuous to make the claim though.
Perhaps I’m too small minded but when I think of sharing office space I think of a person I can ask them to toss me the stapler for a second.

Registered agent is just the person that filled the paperwork and they are usually tied to an address of a company or lawyer that does LLCs. It is more as a measure of privacy than anything else since most LLCs are mom and pop operations and they don’t want to register the home address in case of crooks or city employees searching for zone violations…. but I repeat myself.

According to news reports, the murderer was looking for her husband. He was angry about something the lawyer did or didn’t do. He hired Mr Adkins to defend him after he hit a cop during a DUI arrest. Just a wild guess, but the murderer might have anger control issues?
To be charitable, maybe she worked in her husbands office too?
Maybe, but I am done giving them the benefit of the doubt. God knows they lost the privilege long time ago.
