Florida House and Senate Democrats have submitted enough letters to the Secretary of State’s Office to trigger a poll of members on whether to have a special session related to toughening gun laws following the massacre of 49 club patrons.

This would be the perfect opportunity to eliminate the prohibition of Concealed Carriers from being able to carry inside establishments where alcohol is served.
We need a Designated Shooter Law!
That is probably too much to hope for… sigh…
But it could be a nice Poison Pill. It is not like they can demand to open a session only to hear the bills they want.
Let’s ban CC at establishments that serve alcohol because “Pulse” didn’t already ban CC in their establishment (with pat downs no less).
Their logic is undeniable!
If those were the policies in place, they already did everything they could to ensure a shooting would happen eventually. That it didn’t is probably more of a testament to the harmlessness of the Religious Right than the effectiveness of their policies.
How many states allow sober people to carry into bars? A lot.
How many times have you heard of a licensed carrier shooting up the bar? Never?
I know of one. He was drunk, thrown out of the bar, and went to get his gun and then returned and was shot by the bouncer. Shot by the bouncer with a carry permit.
It will not be the Wild West, Blood will not flow in the streets, but it might stop the next Pulse Massacre. The FBI won’t stop it. The Orlando PD won’t stop it. Obama won’t stop it. He passed HOW MANY background checks? He was licensed to carry. The State of Florida gave him a Security Guard License!

And that’s the problem. For the Left to hold onto their power and influence, the shootings can not stop. Because if the shootings stop, especially if the shootings stop because there are MORE guns on the street instead of fewer, then there’s no longer a problem to fix, and the only way the Left keeps in power is by promising that the government will solve all of your problems for you.
Which doesn’t work if there aren’t any problems for the government to solve.
An interesting quirk of Florida law allows for employees, with or without a “G” license, to carry on the premises of an establishment that makes most of it’s money from booze, i.e. a bar or a nightclub.
A bar or a nightclub can already have a designated shooter, actually. However, said “DS” needs to work there and have the explicit permission of the venue’s owner.
What that means, I don’t know for sure. With bigger establishments, there’s often multiple owners. Does the majority owner have final say? Or can one partner just say “yes” and tell Employee X to carry a gun while on duty? Or does only the GM have to give permission?
Also, what does “explicit permission” mean? Does it mean just a verbal go-ahead? A written doc on company letterhead? Notarized?
It can be done already, but the devil is in the details.
Getting rid of Democrats in Government is a better solution.
