Levi Strauss & Co. has long been known as a pioneer of the American West, one of the great symbols of American freedom. A company born in 1853, we’ve seen and been part of some of the biggest transformational movements that have shaped U.S. culture.
As an iconic global company, we know that what we say and do matters. In 2016, we heard from a number of our retail employees who expressed concerns over consumers carrying guns in our stores. That same year, we had an incident where a consumer accidentally shot and injured himself while trying on a pair of jeans. These events prompted our CEO, Chip Bergh, to write an open letter asking gun owners not to bring firearms into our stores, offices or facilities. While not everyone agreed with our decision, we stood firm because we have never been afraid to take an unpopular stand to support a greater good.
We are inspired by the young people who are speaking up on America’s gun violence epidemic. It’s an issue that affects all of us in this country and is all too prevalent in daily life – whether it be our children participating in active shooter drills at school, worries about our own safety at work or in our community or, most tragic of all, someone we know being hurt by the daily gun violence in this country (one quarter of Americans say they have been directly affected by gun violence).
So they partnered with Everytown.
A brand once associated with cowboys, and by extension the Colt revolver, has gone full anti gun.
It’s a good thing the brand has devolved into hip pants for people who think work is typing a screenplay at Starbucks.
Still, there are a lot of parents who might be tempted go buy Levi’s for their kids.
Knowing that Levi’s is now the official pants of David Hogg, its interesting to see what this does to their bottom line.

Round House brand jeans are made in the USA and are done in the same style as Carhartt Workwear. Just in case you want to support an American company and American workers.

If their business is anything like their product, the crotch will blow out in six months…or less.
20 years ago i would wear nothing but Levis their fit was perfect and they lasted forever. 10 years ago when I finally had to replace my old Levis that took 10 years to wear out I noticed the new Levis would have this blow out problem in about 4-5 months.

What I need is a guide to what other brands replace particular styles of Levis. I prefer 560s, but have no idea what the equivalent would be.
Also a fan of 560’s… or was until Levi’s progtard owner finished his complete rectal-cranial inversion regarding 2A that he started a few years ago.
Last pair of 560’s I bought was 5+ years ago, so looking at Wranglers for replacements.
It looks like the Relaxed Fit Wranglers are a close equivalent of the 560’s, plus they have the added bonus of a “U” shaped crotch area instead of Levi’s “V”, so more room for the boys.
A friend recommended Duluth’s “Ballroom” jeans, if you’re having crushed-nads issues with your current jeans.
I have found that Tractor Supply Company (TSC) sells Schmidt brand jeans that fit simular to the Levi 560. The Schmidt jeans wear out in the pocket corners and crotch after 6-7 months of constant wear but they only cost $14-$20 depending if they are on sale or not. I never found a Weangler jean that fit like the Levi 560 but wrangler quality has suffered as well. Old wrangles were decade jeans like the old levis were, now they wear out in about 1 year and cost about 2/3 as much as levis. To be fair Wrangler quality is still better than Levis but if i have to pay for cheaper quality pants would rather go with Schmidt who at least charges appropiate to the quality.
Last pair of Levi’s I owned were purchased about 15 years ago and were made in a Hong Kong sweatshop. Hong Kong is under the purview of the Chinese government, who’s ruling Communist party has slaughtered thousands of it’s own citizens over the years and has used firearms to do it.
So basically fuck Levi Strauss.
FWIW, mine (bought this spring) were made in Mexico.
I just bought some Levi’s a few months ago, to replace my Wranglers. Didn’t care for the fit of the Wranglers, though they are certainly cheaper. Perhaps I should check out Tractor Supply, in a year or two.
Lands End? although, once Sears finishes imploding, there may not be any Lands End, left.
I like Carharts for the heavier weight denim.
They wore well, except the denim fabric of the jeans tears just below the crotch after about two years of wearing them 2-3 days per week. I even tried iron patches inside at the weak points, and no, it didn’t work. — And my job is fairly sedentary, with lots of desk work.
For cold weather, try the Cabelas flannel lined jeans.
Duluth has a variety of pants that are light, comfortable, and are great for concealed carry.
Levi’s has contributed to antihunting groups since at least the late 1990’s. This is just a logical progression of that stupid position. Haven’t bought Levi’s in many years
