Political and business leaders and lobbyists are opting for bigger, more expensive aircrafts, according to analysis by the Air Charter Service, which found the number of private jet flights grew by 11% last year.
“There appears to be a trend towards larger aircraft, with expensive heavy jets the aircraft of choice, with Gulfstream GVs and Global Expresses both being used more than 100 times each last year,” said Andy Christie, private jets director at the ACS.
The last time a bunch of wealthy elite in a Francophone country where this out of touch, the people put up a guillotine in the center of town and send heads rolling.
All I am saying is “you people need to live in 500 sq-ft efficiency apartments without air conditioning to save the planet while we fly to a resort in the Alps on our Gulfstreams” makes “let them eat cake” sound charitable.
This is what touched off the yellow vest protests in France.

Eventually Napoleon seized power and proclaimed himself Emperor. A stereotypical path for socialist revolutions.
Napoleon made his name by putting down a riot — with cannon fire — and cemented the commoner’s love for him by putting down bandits.
Let’s hope his kind isn’t needed again.

Nothing new for Europe. Back in the 14th century, the 1st & 2nd estates would grandly decree that a rugged and frugal lifestyle was best for the 3rd, while wallowing in absolute luxury (and demanding more taxes for even more extravagant living).
