Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. Glad to hear it, but I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you until we get a satisfactory range report (hint). I’m trying to suppress mental images of a certain kind of cursed person’s luck, and hoping for the best.

  2. Amazing! I bet you didn’t get a call back on the message you left “How long do I have to wait till I report the gun as stolen to the ATF?”

I’m sure that message had nothing to do with them suddenly shipping your gun back to you.

I had a similar experience with a Remington R1. It had so many failure to feeds and failure to extracts that it wasn’t fun to shoot at the range and wasn’t reliable enough to use as a carry weapon.

(8% failure to chamber with multiple sources of 230gr hardball ammo, and in some cases it would jam the magazine so that it required serious force to drop the magazine and clear the issue.)

I sent the gun in along with images of the failures. No contact, no reports, a report back that they had my gun but with the wrong serial number. It took multiple calls and suddenly, with no commentary they ship it back.

    9% failure to chamber. ARGH.

Took it to the dealer, he took it back and for the price difference between what I had paid him for it and the Colt Government Model I got the Colt Government Model.

I have a failure chamber rate on that pistol of around 0.05% and that is only with reloads. The failure to chamber on high quality defensive rounds is 0%. Then again, I’ve run around 3000 rounds through it of range candy and only about 100 rounds of defensive rounds.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
