A bill has been introduced in the Florida Legislature which will finally recognize Constitutional Carry as the law of the land. And predictably, the Anti Gun cadre is opposed and the hysterics are monumental, especially because Governor DeSantis had already promised to sign the bill into law even before one existed.

But what is really taking the cake is the hypocrisy of Moms Demand:

Permitless carry is dangerous and goes against the will of law enforcement, Florida voters, and public safety experts who know this bill will only exacerbate gun violence and make it easier for dangerous people to carry a gun in our communities…
Permitless carry also takes away a vital tool from law enforcement to ensure a person carrying a gun in public isn’t a criminal with a dangerous history. Law enforcement across the country, including in Ohio, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, and South Carolina have been vocal opponents to permitless carry legislation.

The funny part is that Ohio, Texas and Alabama are already Constitutional Carry states. And how about the gall that after all the years opposing Concealed Carry of any flavor, it is suddenly “a vital tool” for law enforcement?

Florida’s current permitting system is effective. Without requiring too much time or money, our permitting system ensures those carrying guns in public have gone through a background check and taken firearm training.

If you read the above without knowing how they behaved in the past, you’d swear they always favored Concealed Carry Permits and they would never said a word against them.

Concealed carry permitting systems enjoy overwhelming support nationally. The majority of Americans support concealed carry permitting systems that help ensure that only responsible gun owners can carry concealed guns in public.

Really, you lying sacks of excrement? So why you always threw a hissy fit of gargantuan proportions and flatly rejected National Reciprocity of Carrying Concealed any time any of us offered it? Now you believe permitted carrying is a wonderful thing which everybody favors?

Go Home Moms Demand. You are drunk on cheap boxed wine and Xanax. Your time has long expired.

Update: It figures. The biggest enemies of any Gun Rights advancement in Florida in the past decade had to come up and do their thing: Chest Tumpers attack!

    1. They probably spent hours searching for a single police chief or sheriff that opposes it. One is good enough to make their lie a truth.

    2. As I preach, you have to watch the language. The quote says “Law enforcement across the country, including…” and lists a number of states. No mention of Florida. It isn’t a factual lie, it is a lie of omission.
      .
It is the same thing they do when some uniformed toady stands up and says “I’m here representing the International Association of Chiefs of Police.” I’m sorry, there are too many countries that have chiefs of police and to many chiefs of police in this country that are anti-gun (for us). The name sounds impressive but it is just a political entity.

  1. The biggest problem in (imho) permitless carry is ignorance of laws in your state. IE- “I don’t need to take a permit class now!” So they stick a gun in thier pocket and carry… into areas that are prohibited… drop guns in public bathrooms, flash it in public. Chest thump..I understand not wanting to spend the money for a class (!!?!!) at least EDUCATE yourself… and some of you “old guys” remember what “law enforcement “ USED to be called?- peace officer….or just plain police.

    1. Now, that I agree with.
I live in a Constitutional Carry state, but I took the CWP class. Not because I needed to learn to shoot, but because I wanted the three hours of law. An attorney from the DA’s office gave the briefing, and it was enlightening.
      .
And it was worth every penny.

    2. @George: Some states (e.g., MA) require a safety class before you apply for an LTC, but there is no state law section.

  2. This tactic is the mirror image of “it is a good start.”
As we all well know, every time a restrictive gun control law passes, the politicians taking credit always say “It is a good start.” or “It is a good first step.” If this was supposed to make us all safe, why is there a “next step?”
    .
This “we love the CWP process.” or “We think carry permits make the world a safer place.” is simply a different flavor of that. As soon as they manage to squash Constitutional Carry, they will start on trying to shoot down the carry permits again.

  3. Is there some way to get these people in to a single file line to put a bucket over their head and hit it with a broomstick till they learn to take the win?

I like open carry, I open carry when I feel like it, I attend walks and breakfasts and community clean ups open carrying to spread awareness and show how completely normal it can be. But good Lord if you get a win this big in against the people who have enough money to make Solomon blush be happy and thank the folks who worked long hours to get it done.

  4. “Go Home Moms Demand. You are drunk on cheap boxed wine and Xanax. Your time has long expired.”

But, like in the Sixth Sense, they don’t know that they’re dead.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
