No, not really.  I honestly don’t believe he wants to win.  I think he is trying to scuttle his chances because deep down he knows he’s too old to be President.

That is the only thing that can explain this:

Joe Biden promises to put Beto O’Rourke in charge of gun control

Moments after former Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke — who promised in a September debate to take away legally purchased assault rifles if elected — endorsed Joe Biden’s White House run, the former vice president promised to name the Texan as his point man on gun control.

“I want to make something clear, I’m going to guarantee you this is not the last you’ve seen of him,” Biden said Monday evening during a campaign rally in Dallas. “You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort.”

This is the same Beto who:

Beto says police would enforce gun confiscation under his buyback plan: ‘There have to be consequences’

Police officers will physically show up to gun owners’ homes and enforce 2020 presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke’s mandatory assault weapons buyback if he is elected president, the Texas Democrat said during a Wednesday interview.

“Any law that is not followed or flagrantly abused, there have to be consequences or else there is no respect for the law,” he said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“I think there would be a visit by law enforcement to recover that firearm and to make sure that it is purchased, bought back so that it cannot be potentially used against somebody else.”

Door to door confiscation of guns.  I guess as a Texas politician, Beto looked at the ATF raid at Waco and said: “that shit was AWESOME, we need more of that!”

Gun control knocked Douche Nukem Swalwell out early and then took out Beto.

The same Beto didn’t win the Senate race in his home state, partly because of how Texans think about gun control.

If Biden does win, well, we might be fucked.  But declaring this early on that the Biden campaign is picking the guy who thought Janet Reno was the hero of Waco and wants to send agents to your house to take your guns and shoot your dogs, and maybe you and your kids too, is going to be his gun czar, is going to be the fastest way to take any moderate gun owner who isn’t a fan of Trump and keep them home on election day.

  1. I honestly think that Biden is in the earlier stages of dementia. The odd gaffes, random outbursts and changes in temperament, that the exact same stuff that my grandmother did as her Alzheimer’s started to take hold.

  2. Yea he is saying some extremely bizzare non sequitur stuff exactly like my grandfather with dementia…

Imo the party running Biden will tank them and they are going to throw the full weight of the party behind him instead of learning their lesson from last election and running Bernie who has imo a better chance at beating Trump. But I think Bernie is too threatening to status quo so they wont touch him.

  3. “If Biden does win, well, we might be fucked. “

From what I can tell, it is unlikely that Trump will not get re-elected. Even with a massive voter fraud effort, there is just not enough people excited about the Democrat platform.

Take a look at the voting on Super Tuesday, compare the votes Trump received (in the states holding a Republican Primary), versus the votes all democrats combined got. They are, with a few exceptions (CA and MA being the obvious exceptions), about even.

What that tells me is that there are a lot more republicans excited about the upcoming election than there are democrats. There are a lot more factors at play, like is there a Senate seat, or is the Representative being primary’ed. But still, the number of people who came out just to vote for the already assumed nominee is staggering.

Then you also have the attendees at the rallies as a factor to consider. Biden draws a “record” crowd of several hundred to a rally, and the Trump turnout is “disappointing” when only 3-5 thousand people are left standing outside.

  4. Yeah, I really don’t think Biden has a chance. Bernie might, as he did in 2016, but he’s been buried once already and his followers walked away instead of getting behind Hillary. The party is a mess (which is amazing, cuz the red team is a sh*t show too)

    1. Bernie may have had a chance in 2016 against an unproven Donald Trump.
But, this is 2020, and he would be up against President Trump, and being the incumbent is a Uuuuuuge advantage. Even lackluster, controversial incumbents like W & Obama pulled off clean wins their second time around.

There’s also the fact that so far, Bernie is a lot like George Wallace- someone with a hardcore & devout fanbase inside his party, and little appeal outside that fanbase. So far, he’s mostly pulling under 30% of the Dem primary voters, and even his wins aren’t by all that much. Whether he can pull more than 1/3rd of his party on a regular basis in a two man race remains yet to be seen.

  5. I think Biden is as much a socialist as Bernie, he just won’t (or can’t) admit it. Single payer healthcare, green new deal, and now “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15s and your AKs,” not much difference there.

    1. I disagree. Bernie is a dyed in the wool socialist ideologue.

Biden is Clinton lite. He’s a corrupt, power hungry politician that will do everything to secure wealth and power for himself and his family. He only wants to take you guns so the next married woman his son bangs, her husband doesn’t shoot his ass.

  6. It’s interesting that a number of states (Texas was one, from what I read) had more voters in the R primary than the D one even though the R one is only a formality.
On Bidens policy positions: I haven’t heard any discussion of it, but in his Tuesday night victory speech he mentioned “11 million new citizens”. In other words, he intends to give citizenship to all illegal aliens.

  7. If Biden wins there are some really serious ethical questions that need answering immediately like how can we have a man on a mental decline go into office? Oh and don’t worry, I recognize the apparent irony of this is exactly what many of Trump, though the nuance and it being different situations I’m sure is lost on them.

There is also the possibility of Biden wins, does 3 months closely managed in office, and resigned due to health issues for VP to take over. So lets not ignore the VPs role on his ticket.

  8. There are lots of dems going to Trump rallies and saying they will be voting for Trump. Trump has 37% approval among blacks. Rush said if dems lose 25% of the blacks they wont win any election. What We the People need to do is make sure we keep a Republican in the white house in 2024….

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
