I have no idea if she drove or not for that amount of time, but It is simply stupid to select a delivery that far or the restaurant to take an order like that. I will admit I do not know how those services work, but she should had just rejected that delivery, specially how much is gas going for.

My son drives for DoorDash on occasion. You know ahead of time what the drive is, what the tip is, and if you know the area what the traffic is like. He says you can reject deliveries if you don’t like them and he does. Sometimes someone will order from a restaurant that’s 30 miles away which is just stupid. Other times there’s no tip. I think there’s a scoring system to prevent someone from simply rejecting everything, but still some people are just stupid. And 40 minutes driving for 12 miles? Either very bad traffic or else she took a crappy route. She should have known ahead of time.
So, instead of $8 she got…nothing.
She showed them.
Instead of $8 she probably got fired when this guy reported her.
If not, at the least she had to pay for the food herself.
Way back in the long long ago, before the internet and door dash, there were plenty of servers working at restaurants and bars that busted their ass to make difficult customers happy. And they ended up with a lousy (or no) tip anyway.
It is called life. Deal with it.
