Is it me or I am not seeing the usual News Pounce and Assorted Outrage Hollering in this case?
It is being mentioned, but not with the usual relevance. Even the local rags which are just satellites of the notorious Anti-Gun USA Today Network, are not even carrying the item in their front page but 10 pages plus deep inside today’s editions.
Only CNN is doing the usual thing, but the main face has been Brian Setzer who is not precisely a well-liked character.
I have no particular explanation as of why. But I do find it interesting.

You’re not wrong. This isn’t panning out like say, Sandy Hook, where New York politicians had gun control legislation already written and waiting (the SAFE Act) and just needed a mass shooting to ram it through. I mentioned in another thread, they seem more focused on blaming social media. I’ve grown to hate social media so much that I almost wouldn’t mind if it was destroyed or made completely irrelevant. The question is, who do they go after here? I know this asshole used “Twitch” to stream his attack, and a cursory look suggests that’s an app people use to broadcast themselves playing video games. Do they go after just them? Or do they take on the giants like Facebook and Twitter, who arguably bear most of the culpability for quickening America’s demise? Or do they go after the outlier sites like Gab and Parler, who are pretty much already irrelevant?

When a criminally insane shooter plans his attack on a minority race in a gun free zone and bases his planned atrocity on democrat political policies which are an outright threat against White Americans, the democrat liberal leftist will remain silent. Critical Race Theory, created by a Harvard professor Derick Bell, which was embrace wholeheartedly by Barack Obama, clearly comes under the political microscope due to the mass killer’s manifesto.
Add to those factors, that he hates Trump and therefore Trump’s voters, what democrat liberals are faced with is…their political plan is now out in the open. Exactly what “Replacement Theory” proponent’s claim liberals’ political objective is, and have been for several decades, is now under the political spotlight, just ahead of a midterm election. Liberals know their plan to allow illegal immigrants to vote, to allow them across an open border, to financially fund their illegal caravans to the open border and then provide them with a taxpayer funded life, is going to be in the limelight. It’s a political opposition’s dream come true. White Americans are illegitimate, and illegal immigrants are legitimate replacements is now front and center.
Liberals are 100% for the replacement of their pollical opposition, with illegal criminals. Liberals want to ‘cancel out’ everything in American Life, which is majority, white, and conservative or independent. And this horrendous act brings all that into the public square like nothing else can do.

It’s an interesting dichotomy. He fits almost all the checkboxes they need for a good narrative but there’s a whole lot of crazy there plus the fact that NY’s laws were supposed to stop him at pretty much every point along the way but didn’t.

What I’ve seen a lot more of is attacks on “conservative” media. It is Tucker’s fault this happened. It was disinformation. It was fake news.
I seem to remember that saying that something was “fake news” was somehow an attack on journalists and freedom of speach and democracy and all the rest. But that was 17 months ago. Things must have changed.
What I’m hearing is a call to censor instead of a call to ban guns.
They’ll move on to banning guns when they have established “reasoned debate” on the issue. I think that’s the term. Where every gun-control comment is allowed and any counter is removed. Leading the reader to believe there are no pro-gun comments.
Or sometimes even worse, just leaving the most extreme pro-gun comments to use as a strawman.
“Reasoned discourse” is the term you’re looking for. It was so prevalent on anti-gunners’ blogs and forums that pro-gunners started using it as a verb instead of just a noun.

Heard about this yesterday. Still not sure if it is all 100% true (time will tell), but so far it appears that this murderer was a leftie or at least very sympathetic to their commie politics. Might explain why the media has been slow to bang the progtard narrative drums…

One thing I have seen in the Twitterverse is the new phrase of the day “Displacement Theory” that I’ld never heard of before but supposedly has been pushed by every GOP member and ‘right wing’ news source since the days of Bareback Obama. ( stealing that one).
