  1. The very moment that one of these “green” energy technologies are able to produce energy with enough reliability and efficiency to be profitable without subsidies two things will happen:

    1) Private industry and venture capitalists will rush to invest their own money into the industry;

    2) Socialists and government bureaucrats (but I repeat myself) will trip over themselves rushing to TV and Twitter to denounce the technology.

  2. Idiotic headline. Was a company really appointed as secretary? Who’s the person pictured then?

    1. Huh? Just parse the plain English.
      (President Biden) touts (electric car company (potentially worth millions (for his energy secretary)))
      The person pictured is the Secretary of Energy, formerly MI politician Jennifer Granholm.

  3. Tear down the Columbia and Snake River dams to restore “native” salmon runs. Ban Nuclear Power because it’s sorta scary and bombs and things. Ban Coal fired plants because CO-2. Ban Natural gas plants because fracking and stuff. Ban windmills because they kill birds and are ugly. Convert millions of square kilometers of forest, farmland, and desert into solar energy “parks” to provide electric that by definition can only generate power 50% of the time and requires batteries with a short usable life and use toxic materials which must be disposed of somehow to provide some stability to the grid.

    Now there is an energy policy to kill an industrial society and push the survivors back to the days of slash and burn agriculture, and animal powered transport.

    1. Not all of the survivors will need to return to Iron Age levels of technology and subsistence farming. The nomenklatura will still have electric lights, gas stoves, and assault rifles… Y’know, because of how Important their work is.

      You don’t think pigs like milk and apples, do you?

      1. Nah, their servants will have gas stoves — at work — and their guards will have fully automatic rifles — at work.

    1. That’s why there’s all the noise around limits on red meat. And why we won’t likely see a quick resumption of international travel anytime soon — right now it’s reserved for the “right people”, and they love it that way.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
