(Must don tin foil hat now)

Is the reduction of legal magazine capacity in NJ just a regular push for more gun control or a perfect set-up to bring down Chris Christie as possible candidate for the Presidency?

He is somewhat well liked by North East Low Information voters on the Dem side so those would be votes away from  the future Democratic Party candidate. And since he has the “R” attached to his name, maybe strategist are thinking he has the Republican vote cinched. So, if he vetoes the bill, the N.E. Voters will abandon him; if he signs the bill, then it is gonna be the Republicans (and gun owners in specific) that will abandon him. They are betting on a Catch-22 paradox.

Then again, I don’t know the first gun owner that does either like Gov. Christie. I know I wouldn’t vote for him if he gets selected by the GOP and i think many Gun Owners would go the same way.

But rest assured, we will go out and vote. Not just for the biggest RINO (literally and figuratively) in the GOP Zoo but to reclaim the Senate.

  1. It’s nothing but an attempt to smear him………It’s NJ Dem’s that first started burping about him running for President back in 2009!! I don’t think it’s as much as an attempt to ruin his credibility for President, but as a way to ruin the Republican party here in NJ, not that NJGOP needs any help doing that.

  2. Good, I don’t want him in the race. Anything that gets him out of the race is welcome, as it makes more room for people I would actually accept. The R’s in NJ are nothing by D’s with a different label, so destroying the party there is no big loss, and may actually be a net benefit (less RINO’s catching national attention due to high state positions).

I am not wiling to call the enemy of my enemy a friend, but in this case I thing the dems are doing us a favor.

  3. If he makes it to the general and it’s against Hillary (and let’s not kid ourselves… she’s going for it) then anyone who DOESN’T vote for CC because they don’t LIKE him had better STFU when HRC bends them over. It’s thinking like that that put BHO back into the white house the second time around. Hate CC as much as you like, but hate HRC more, and vote for CC if he’s the one running against her.

    1. I agree, and I will vote for the Republican unless a 3rd party can present a candidate and put enough weight behind him for an upset.

But if Chris Christie is on the Republican ticket, the Democrat will win. Period.

  4. In the last two Presidential election cycles, I voted against the current incumbent a total of four times:

In the 2008 primary (HRC), in the 2008 general (McCain), in the 2012 primary (Paul), and in the 2012 general (Romney).

I’m not going to play that game again. We’ve proven again and again that so-called “moderate” left-wing RINOs can’t win the office. If the GOP puts another one forward, especially if it’s Christie, I’m GOING to vote third party: If the GOP isn’t serious about winning the office, and they refuse to put forward a truly electable candidate, then they’ve already admitted defeat to the DNC, and I’d rather make a principled vote than go down trying to bail out that sinking ship.

Might I remind you that the Whig party self destructed much as the modern Republican party is doing, and the Republican party only came to national prominence when Lincoln won the presidency as a Republican.

    1. “Electable” is a dirty word. It really just means “liberal.”

“Electable” candidates are the ones who reach across the aisle with a dash of liberal voting records and a history of supporting liberal causes. It buys in on the idea that “Politicians campaign towards the center.”

Only Liberal politicians can win by campaigning towards the center. You win by campaigning towards the Right. It just happens for Liberals, that’s the same thing.
