How dare they actually make sense!
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Three major airlines are saying no to mandated COVID-19 vaccinations for their employees.
Delta, American Airlines and Southwest are strongly encouraging employees to get vaccinated against the virus, but will not require it.
This comes as other airlines, like United Airlines and Frontier, announced vaccine mandates for employees. Frontier did say that employees can opt-out through testing.
American Airlines did tell FOX News that it will be offering a $50 bonus and extra day off next year for employees who decide to get vaccinated.
This is how you incentivize people! And I believe they will have better compliance and less drama.
The airlines still have to dal with the federal mask mandate, but at least we know of three that are not suffering CEOs and assorted mid level bureaucrats under the influence of power trips.
I agree that incentives are way better than mandates, but I seriously doubt that many employees will take them up on it.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I know why I’m reluctant to take the mRNA vaccine and most of the other “hesitant” people I’ve talked to have the same reasons.
If I were willing to risk long term consequences for $50 and a day off, I’d probably have already gotten the jab.
There have, so far, been studies indicating that the Pfizer vaccine could make recipients more susceptible to neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s and ALS, there have been indications that the “spike proteins” that the mRNA induces our own cells to produce become embedded in the walls of capillaries (causing the blood clots and heart problems in some people) and may result in high blood pressure, strokes and heart attacks later in life, There have been indications the the mRNA vaccines may actually make the recipients more susceptible to future coronavirus variant outbreaks (a result which happened repeatedly during animal testing of the technology), etc etc etc.
I’m not saying I’m convinced all that is true, but on the side of “it’s safe and effective” are the same people who first urged us to “hug an Asian” and said masks were useless, then closed churches and libraries and gyms (while leaving bars and liquor stores open) and masks were mandatory, told us that protests against lockdowns and mask mandates were “superspreader” events but protests against police violence were safe, insisted that the virus was natural and any hint that it may have come from the lab down the street be shut down immediately…I could go on. Let’s just say I don’t have immutable trust in anything the CDC or the Whitehouse, or the WHO or the media have to say about it.
The fact is, this is brand new technology that had major issues when it was being developed and even some of the scientists who worked on its development are warning that it’s not quite ready for prime time yet. The fact is we may not know for years or decades what the actual long term effects will be.
Is it worth risking the chance of ANY of those potential long term bad effects being right, in an effort to avoid a disease with a lower mortality rate than the flu in my demographic group?
Um….no. Not even for $50 and a day off.
The interesting thing is that there are a few companies developing “traditional” vaccines that use tried and tested technology. At least one of them is on track to come out in the fall or early spring, but the reports are that it probably won’t be available in the US because there are already three vaccine choices available here.
So, when a company comes out with a vaccine that many of the mRNA “hesitant” would accept, they won’t let us have it? I guess they don’t think being vaccinated is that important after all.

It’s not about disease control; it’s about submission. That’s why the herd immunity threshold has been raised to 107%, and only vaccine-derived immunity counts.
Well… submission, and creating and demonizing an outgroup. The Party must have its outgroup!
This pandemic is going exactly like every pandemic before it.
First, it sickens and kills a lot of people. Not surprisingly, those people are susceptible to getting sick or dying from the virus. Could be any number of reasons, age, co-morbiditities, race, weak immune system, whatever.
Then the virus, which does not have to mutate, starts having a harder time finding people who get sick. Not because it weakens, but because it already got the susceptible sick. Those who are not as susceptible may get a little sick, but do not have a problem surviving.
We are approaching the final leg here. Where the number of people who actually get sick enough to require care are already immune (they had it already), dead, or vaccinated.
Which is why there is a 24/7 news cycle about how horrific the delta, lambda, epsilon, etc… variant is going to be. If the human race just went back to normal today, the number of deaths would likely not rise significantly at all.
