What I was getting at was, the driver should have hit the gas and gotten out of there after the first use of a bicycle as an impact weapon (or before), not waited for the windshield to be stove in. It looks clear for a few feet in front of the car, for a few seconds at least.
People would be surprised at how much momentum can be built up with a vehicle in ten feet. Neither bodies nor bikes will stop it.
