He probably died with the satisfaction he did not have to cover mean tweets.

  1. “Jim Acosta, the bravest journalist in the US should step in. don’t you think?”

That putz wouldn’t step outside his front door if he thought a skeeter was buzzing near it. No way in H**l would he dare step foot within ten thousand miles of a combat zone.

  2. Now I’m really conflicted. Ukraine or Russia? Ukraine or Russia? The Ukrainians need to step up their game.

And who said violence doesn’t solve anything? It sure settled Mr. Renaud’s hash.

  3. The NYT is saying he’s not one of theirs and the pass he was using was expired as he left the NYT in 2009.
Seems a little odd a journalist would use a pass that old.

    1. If you were a freelancer, wouldn’t you want to be identified as from the New York Times in a war zone, as opposed to a random freelancer or working for some other more obscure (Axios, Not the Bee, etc.) news site; especially when you are dealing with armed, scared and/or angry men at military or bandit checkpoints in isolated areas? I would. Imagine being the guy at the checkpoint? A NYT journalist may have friends in high places. Best not to F! with someone that may know people that can F! you over.
      .
Look at the Pass, it is undated, and in great shape. I carry a union card in my wallet for similar reasons.

  4. Apparently he was behind the lines and this may have been friendly fire. We may want to do the 72 hour rule on this.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
