Journalists have, it seems to me, increasingly been making it all about themselves when it comes to free-speech issues, repression, etc.

I get that (real) journalists might be putting themselves at risk, both during the story researching and as a result of the reporting (see Andy Ngo’s coverage of Antifa, for instance); and I respect those that really do put themselves into harm’s way. But … histrionics seemingly aimed at nothing but building cred with their peers? Not so much.
