The group’s leader Kory Watkins posted a message on Facebook Wednesday urging supporters to “hunt down” Republicans opposed to open carry.
Many have criticized the group’s actions as going too far and hurting the chances of a bill passing in the current session.

I guess he wanted to be sure both parties felt threatened and not to be accused of unfairness.

I’ve come to realize this guy is a pure and shameless publicity whore, and any OC people that take him seriously should be ashamed of themselves.
The guy is a douche nozzle, no doubt about it. However, the politicians going back on their campaign promises are just that. Don’t be fooled by them claiming that this handful of special-needers really had anything to do with it.
Yeah, ain’t going to pass this year either…

Not really.
Texas is one of few peculiar states where open carry is prohibited*.
The norm is that concealed carry is regarded as nefarious and requires special permitting, open carry is OK, even if alarming by today’s cultural norm.
*Oddly, Texas and Florida are relatively highly libertarian with regard to concealed carry, but effectively have no open carry. Go figure.
