CSGV: We don’t dance in blood….We Riverdance!

When I say that the Coalition to Stop Gun Rights Violence is composed of mentally sick puppies, I am not being facetious. Three people are dead including the shooter and a police constable in College Station, Texas and CSGV and its minions go on an immediate blood tapdancing:

Now compare that egotistical self absorption with the comments from PoliceOne.com.

At time of the screen cap of PoliceOne, there were 67 comments, not a single one even remotely mentioning politics. If one group may have the moral high ground to say anything would be a site dedicated to police officers, yet the focus was on the fallen officer and his family, not the politics.

But CSGV cares…right. I have seen vultures show more respect for corpses.

The Idiot of the Day

The award goes to the driver of the burgundy car on the right.

White camper was coming from the right and turning left into work and the light was on his favor. Burgundy car was driving from left to right, runs the red light and clips the camper on the left rear quarter. According to witnesses, the camper rolled on its side, slid a bit and right itself up before ending on the divider. Again and according to witnesses, the driver of the burgundy car (known from now on as The Idiot) got out of his car and his first words were “Oh my God, I did not see him. I was texting.”

The driver of the camper was slightly injured, treated on the scene and released on his own. The Idiot had just a bump in his head. Police arrives some 40 minutes later, interviews both drivers, issues a $10 fine to the driver of the camper for failing to produce proof of insurance and call for a tow truck. The Idiot however did not have it as easy: No license or registration or proof of insurance plus he had an outstanding warrant. Cope were kind enough to let his girlfriend show up to collect his personal items before arresting him. And as a final touch, we were treated to a scene from COPS: The moment the handcuffs clicked on his wrists, the idiot started to cry with big tears flowing and snorts.

Life is hard; it’s harder when you’re stupid.

Gun Control jumps the shark in Venezuela.

So what happens when you implement draconian gun laws but the crime does go down but actually increases? You go full throttle stupid with more laws.

Last May Venezuela implemented a series of regulations prohibiting where people can carry a weapon. You get the usual locations as where any alcohol is served, public gatherings of any kind, etc even though it was already illegal so they made it “illegaller.” But apparently that is not enough because criminals are not paying attention to the law so now the Government has mandated that everybody must be searched by pat down, X-Ray, metal detectors and or wands. If you own a restaurant where alcohol is served, you must force your clientele to be searched & probed before going in. So basically you have to go through a TSA screening every time you go wanna eat something or choose a restaurant that does not sell alcohol which in Venezuela, other than fast food places, there are very few. Owners of such establishments are also obligated to have a CCTV system included with the above measures or run the risk to have your business permit removed or denied if you are applying for one.

If that was not stupid enough, they also banned guns in any location, public or private where construction, remodeling, restoration, rehabilitation or any kind of work is being done. So basically if you are fixing something in your home or adding a room or even as simple as painting your house, the home becomes a government mandated Gun Free Zone. The location not only has to be posted with the appropriate No Guns Allowed sign, but Law Enforcement can go in any time and check that you are complying with the law without any type of warrants or judicial orders.

And before you say “this will never happen here” make sure you say it because you are willing to fight for what is right and not waiting for somebody to do it for you. If we give the Antis half a chance, this is precisely what we will end up having, Bill of Rights be dammed.

At least they were accurate and didn’t screw it up. LOL

My bandwith is safe. 🙂

UPDATE: Since Eliot Spitzer mentioned that the members of MAIG should also join the Coercive Gun Purchasing program,  I checked the numbers to include all LEOs in the US. in 2008 there were 593,000 police officers (Local & State)  and 120,000 Federal Law Enforcement Officers as per the Bureau of Justice Statistics. Than bring the LEO number to 713,000 and total number of possible guns to buy for both all US Military and all US LEO to 3,713,000 or about 2 months and a week worth of gun purchases if we go by last year’s NICS checks.

Now, this is just seen from the point of view of one gigantic purchase order. The reality is that it cannot happen that way for several reasons:

Firearms come with a very long expiration date set in several decades. And that is if they are used hard and heavy. Only active service military engaged in firefights would be included in this statistic. Most LEOs never use their firearm in the line of duty and if so, we are not talking about long protracted firefights with thousands of rounds spent. The only other group that uses guns in a regular basis are the Civilians and even so it is not unusual that guns last and are passed from generation to generation. Taxpayers would probably revolt at the idea that their local LEOs needed brand new sidearms every year and even the most pro-gun congress would laugh at the request for funding for Federal LEOs every year. So, a gigantic purchase order for 3,713,000 firearms would be a one time in a decade or two making of even lower impact. Also, the “old” firearms would probably end in the open market and sold gun dealers that will sell them to civilians as police trade-ins for a very cheap price denying the original idea of reducing the number of guns in the hands of citizens.

Firearms Manufacturers probably will not bend over the requirement espoused by Spitzer because it would mean angering a very loyal clientele. Tomkins PLC  (a British company) bought Smith & Wesson in 1987. In 2000 they entered in a deal with the Clinton Administration and “agreed to numerous safety and design standards, as well as limits on the sale and distribution of their products.”  The consumer backlash & boycott was so effective that Tomkins PLC sold Smith and Wesson a year after signing the agreement with the Clinton Administration for bout 10 cents on the dollar. Rest assured that this lesson is firmly imprinted in the minds of Gun Companies CEOs and at the end of the day, just like any business, they are in place to make money and not to placate cheap political activism.

I and many others in the Gun Culture find both amazing and repulsive that people with no experience whatsoever in firearms fancy themselves as experts on the “gun problem.” It is pathetically obvious that Eliot Spitzer’s knowledge about the gun industry is almost nil and based on deluded political fantasies that Gun Control is something that the American Citizens want by a large majority. We have come a long way since the Clinton years but some appear to be still stuck there and, let’s hope they stay there. The amount of harm they can create will be almost zero.
