The public address system at my local Wally World was announcing that anybody who wanted to get the free Kung Flu vaccination, to go over the pharmacy. No lines and no waiting times.
No idea how many responded (I was on my way out on the other side) but I found it funny that we went from OMFG-DEATH-IS-UPON-US! to “Attention K-Mart Shoppers…”

Australia’s second most populous state Victoria will enter a seven-day lockdown to counter a fast-spreading outbreak in its capital, Melbourne.
The lockdown will begin at midnight on Thursday (14:00 GMT).
Authorities have so far found 26 cases, and identified 150 sites where people may have been exposed to the virus.
They are fully in the clutches of Pandemic Fear Porn.
Last December Vice President elect Harris publicly stated that she didn’t trust a vaccine pushed by the Trump administration. Now, They’re trying to coerce everyone to take the same vaccines.
Victoria’s population is approximately 6.7 million people.

Just ran some numbers on that. Turns out a whopping 0.00039% of the population is affected.
Oh, and a “case” means what exactly? From what I can tell, that simply means you tested positive for the virus. Does not mean symptoms, or death, or anything other than the PCR test provided a positive. If this “fast spreading” version of the disease is anything like the other variants, about 2% of the ‘cases’ will require medical care more significant than a doctor visit.
And, since the PCR test is well known for false positives, what really is the problem.
Oh, that’s right. The politicians want to maintain their control over the plebes.
Once again: remember that Australia, like most other countries other than the USA, does not have a Constitution.
The Australians are banana’s and lovers of authoritarianism. I know a couple there, and they are all depressed at the lockdowns but can’t understand that locking down is the problem, not the virus.
Yup, we are swimming in the vaccines right now. The big 3,000 car parking vaccine distribution center for anyone who drives up in our county has been dismantled.
Remember Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere. They are entering their equivalent of our November.
What is really, really sad is they are doing the same North of the Border in Manitoba Canada. Canada didn’t want to follow that buffoon Trump on Vaccines, Their Glorious Leader, Justin Trudeau opted to invest in the Chinese Vaccine, Sino-whatever. Then Xi and China screwed them over about 6 months ago. “NO Vaccine for YOU!” Now Trudeau is begging for vaccines.
Not to mention that the China Vaccine apparently is about 50% effective, and that assumes you believe the supposed trial results from the supposed trials the ChiComs have run.
There was a WSJ news item a few weeks ago about a new surge in a third world place, the Seychelles I think, even though that country has the highest vaccination rate in the world. Unfortunately, that high rate was with the China Vaccine, and apparently that didn’t do them much good. They are now trying to get a real vaccine, made in a civilized country.
