More Americans had their backgrounds checked purchasing guns on Black Friday than any day in the on record, according to data released by the FBI this week.
The National Instant Criminal Background Check System processed 185,345 requests on November 27, one of the largest retail sales days in the country.”This was an approximate 5% increase over the 175,754 received on Black Friday 2014,” wrote Stephen Fischer, the FBI’s chief of multimedia productions. “The previous high for receipts were the 177,170 received on 12/21/2012.”…Since 1998, FBI data shows that the bureau has processed requests for more than 220 million firearm purchases.

The gun buying budget this year was redirected towards house hold goods such as a microwave, toaster oven, and infared fire place heater thingy. Oh and doggie beds. Most emasculating trip to home depot ever.

Yep the state where they make it a royal pain in the ass to become a gun owner, and filled with anti-gun people who cast horrible judgments on people who simply own guns is seeing a HUGE rise in NEW GUN OWNERS.
If it’s doing this in Massachusetts, can you imagine what’s happening in states where you can just walk into a gun shop on a whim and walk out with your first gun.
Unfortunately you’re perpetuating the leftist mantra. You cannot walk into any gunshop, buy any kind of gun and walk out. You BUY the gun and you have to WAIT 72 hours BEFORE you can get it. And do you know what the gunshop owner is doing? Apparently not! He is checking with the FBI for anything that might preclude you from taking possession of the gun. So, NO Virginia you can’t get a gun and run into the street shooting anyone you see!
Ummm. No, in most gun stores you walk in and buy the gun you want and walk out with it, usually with no more than a 30 minute wait to do all the paperwork. Waiting 72 hours is quite the exceptional case and not common at all.
I only know 2 people that bought on Friday. Out of the hundreds of gunners I know. So I conclude that we have many new buyers in the mix. More to teach and more, hopefully, that will vote the 2nd Amendment.
Since many state offices were closed, these were mostly gun sales, and CCW applications should have been low.

Not that I did it to avoid the background check, it’s just how it works out.

Found lots of good deals on Turkey day and Friday, many with free shipping. So got me a 22Mag revolver, a 9mm pistol, a 7.62×39 barrel to complete a project, some Pmags and lots of pistol and rifle food. 😉
But, but fewer people are owning more guns each. The number of gun owners is going down. Polls and Surveys tell us so!
Like I will ever admit to anyone on a phone, in a Doctor’s Office or anywhere else IF I do or do not own firearms, knives, certain books, or anything else that may be unpopular with nosy people that have no right to know. I have a great dumbfounded look and/or a vacuous stare I use for these situations.
