That feeling when you realize you cost your state 27,000 jobs and might cost them 71,000 when it’s all said and done.

Not to mention the tax revenue lost from that.

Right now Kay Ivey and Mo Brooks should be sending armies of hookers and dump trucks full of cocaine to Boeing corporate offices to suck, fuck, and blow them into moving the rest of their production fleet to the Huntsville area.

There is plenty of space in Limestone County to drop in a new airplane factory near where Blue Origin and Toyota Mazda are now.

Our costs of living are lower than Seattle, the weather is nicer, and our residents don’t burn shit to the ground.

  1. So all of these industries have been crippled because of the overreaction of State governments who have shown an absolute refusal to ease restrictions as more evidence has come to light. And now they’re blatantly threatening those companies who are likely to realise that doing business somewhere else might be better for business?

If I was a Beoing leader I’d tweet back “Or else what?”

  2. I would be happy to see some expansion in Wichita KS by Boeing. No riots here and they already have some existing manufacturing here.

  3. “Must”? What is this “must” you speak of? Or else what? You’ll tax them more heavily? Sue them to force them to remain in Washington? Private industry is free to set up wherever they want to set up. If they don’t feel that your state is providing them with a competitive or acceptable environment, they are free to find others more willing to accommodate their needs.

  4. I’ll join everyone else – ‘Or What?’

I think this has been in the works for some time. The losses they are incurring gives them a reason to bail harder.

Those jobs are gone. I believe the original plan was to have the 787 built in NC. It was only because of static (and probably the Obama admin) that parts of it stayed.

  5. I agree with the sentiment about leaving Washington, but I don’t fucking want them here. The last thing that Huntsville needs is another 50,000 people.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see the growth but Boeing is a goddamn clusterfuck right now so it would probably be Remington 2.0 for Huntsville. On top of that, they can barely handle the infrastructure for the growth they have.

Plus, It would have to be built around Huntsville International or the Decatur regional airport. No way would that happen.

  6. And I will be sending in a job app c/o y’all at any time as soon as I can. Never did want to work at Everett just because of the ice storms anyway.

    1. That says A LOT about WA’s tax structure if a company would rather move to fucking Chicago instead of staying in WA.

And I’m sure there’s no way that ladies of the night and fresh powder we’re involved in that decision either.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
