And I guess we can call them School Resource Officers?
A former top honcho for the FBI does not know that his revolutionary idea has been implemented since the 70s.
We need stop wondering if they ever know what they are doing as clearly, they do not. Trusting our safety to people like him is simply suicide in slow motion.
The FIRST thing that needs to happen is get rid of ban on firearms on school property. Then post signs- armed teachers and staff on site. We are so fukked its not remotely funny anymore…

The disconnect has been going on for a long time.
Technically, that Bush the elder story was enemy propaganda. It wasn’t the barcode scanner, the person at the counter was telling him about the automated inventory system. How when a product is scanned at the register, a computer database then reduces the inventory of that product by 1 item. When the inventory gets below a pre-set limit, an order is sent to ship more of that product to a store. In the late 80’s/early 90’s, most people did not have personal computers. Companies generally did not have big servers or database tracking. That was revolutionary for the time. It was amazing and a big step toward “just-in-time” deliveries (which aren’t that popular anymore, for reasons).
Additionally, when a president is doing a meet and greet, it’s normal for him to act friendly, show interest, that sort of thing. Press the flesh as they used to call it. Shake hands and kiss babies.
But news stories and pictures circulated to push the narrative that he was an old fogey, out of touch, and wouldn’t you really want to vote for the younger and charismatic Clintons? Boy, that worked out well, didn’t it?

You need a resource officer in every school, and AT LEAST 1 armed teacher that can assist, maybe more if its a big school. I’m for arming teachers, but it should be voluntary. Forcing someone to have a gun that may not have the mindset to be able to use it when the time comes doesn’t do anyone any good.
True, but that reasoning applies to cops too. Especially ones willing to be called “resource officer”. Consider the Sheriff Israel precedent; just because the person in/near the school wears a badge, and perhaps even a gun, doesn’t mean he’ll actually do anything useful when SHTF. And, lest we forget, if he takes no action he IS NOT LIABLE for that. Morally to blame, of course, but legally blameless.
