Home Invasion by females have been appearing more and more in my notifications. Not an impressive number just yet, but you could say feminism did break that particular glass ceiling. And they know what buttons to push too.

The holdup happened in the early morning hours of May 20 in the 2200 block of 25th Street Ensley. Police at the time said they were told three black females knocked on the door, and forced their way inside once the door was opened.

Early morning, imagine breakfast time with daylight. Three women knock on the door? That can’t be a home invasion! That happens only at night and done by brutish men, right?

You just simply do not know what the bad guy/gal looks like. Prepare accordingly.

  1. My family owns a restaurant/deli in South Fla, popular with retirees. Little old ladies are the worst lairs, cheats, and thieves I’ve ever seen. I saw it with my own eyes. Some of the scams I saw were:

They would come in, and want a cup of soup and half sandwich. Then they would order a bowl of soup and full sandwich, which is a lot of food for a woman that is in her 70’s, maybe 5 feet tall, and 100 lbs with her purse. Then they would eat half the soup and half the sandwich and complaint that it was no good and they didn’t want to pay.

They would order a bagel and cup of ice water, all of $1.00 in food. Sit down and take every packet of butter, jelly, creamer, sugar, Equal, Splenda, and sweet ‘n low on three tables.

They would shoplift anything that wasn’t nailed down and put it in their giant sack purse.

They would order $30 in food at the restaurant, walk to the register and hand over a $10 dollar bill and feign memory problems – “Oh, I forgot I only had $10. I thought I had more.”

I even saw a few who ran a slip and fall scheme. They would eat at the restaurant, get food at the deli, then on their way to the register, slip and fall. Of course we would help them up, offer to call an ambulance, etc. They said they didn’t need any help, and of course we weren’t going to charge them for their meal after they just fell. They would do this at restaurant after restaurant, the grocery store, etc. until managers caught on that these particular women would pratfall only after they ate and got their items just before they were going to pay.

They did this, because they knew they could get away with it. What manager in his 30’s or 40’s, what waiter/waitress in his/her 20’s, what teenage cashier would get into an argument and want to detain a grandma in her 70’s or 80’s? It would look so bad for business to be anything but nice and respectful to the “sweet little old lady on a fixed income” in a town full of retirees.

Just because they look sweet and nice and like they will bake you cookies, doesn’t mean they wouldn’t pry the fillings out of your teeth or pull the jewelry off of your corpse.

I’ve given those Jehovah Witness ladies a scare a couple of times when they got to the door before I saw them approaching. Perhaps the only time they’ve ever looked down a barrel of a .357 but you never know. No one is getting the jump on me.
