Thanks to the series, I had added to my streaming list several of the songs played in the series and mostly in the Jazz category which I am new to. This collection helped me find more songs that I did not know I needed to hear and add to my list.
I am definitely an Art Pepper fan now. Miles? Not so much.
Special mention to Mazzy Star’s Into Dust. That is a great voice.

Longtime jazz lover here. I’m with you on Miles. Some of his really early stuff (late 1940’s, early 50’s) isn’t bad, but he started going weird and off the rails after that. It all culminated with the album Bitches’ Brew, which was sort of a jazz version of the grift perpetrated by classical composers such as John Cage, Alban Berg, Anton Webern and Arnold Schoenberg. It was, IMO, basically a huge raised middle finger to the audience. Of course, the “critics” all raved, because they were afraid to be left out of the Cool Kids Club. Most normal people are not anxious to pay good money and waste valuable time to listen to atonal screeching.
I will have to check out this series now. I loved the Detective Bosch novels.
