3. When I was in France in 2014 (this was before Charlie Hebdo), they had many army dudes patrolling around the Eiffel Tower with standard issue Famas’. However, nearly all of them had no magazines in the rifles — it was just for show (and I suppose intimidation).

   Of course, after 2015 things changed drastically. They now all do carry with magazines ready. And not just around the Eiffel Tower. There were dudes decked out in SWAT gear around Louis Vuitton. Many of the customers felt nervous, but hey, I was happy that guy was around.

   I must add, though, I had to copy and manipulate the image to get enough contrast to see the problem.
