I finally gave myself the time to sit and read the text of the TAPS act. From what I have seen in Gun Right Social Media, it is the official Federal Red Flag law and if you do not want it burn to the ground, you are a traitor and should be hanged.

But as I always try to remind people READ THE BILL FIRST!.

Ane what was my take on this bill: basically to select 24 people from different agencies to spend a year talking about threats and then issue a report and recommendations. Wash, Rinse, Repeat every year after that.

I see it as a good thing (other than the taxpayer’s money being wasted) as it plugs the WE MUST DO SOMETHING NOW! hole at the Federal level and it may help states to stop rushing to pass their own laws wit nasty unintended consequences. Committees can be influenced into doing the right thing or produce an useless product.

This is a toughie: even though I wish this Committee wasn’t needed, but if it stops the Gun Control side from beating this particular drum to death and against us, then I am for it.

  1. This new HR, is NOTHING but the same political bullshit that has been occurring since the ACLU emptied the mental hospitals into the bushes almost 50 years ago. What need to be done a day after the ACLU succeeded in their lawsuit, was for congress to pass an law to be able to lock seriously mentally ill people up, BEFORE they could kill. Democraps and evil people in general, do not make plans in time frames of days, weeks or months. Evil people, wanting to destroy the USA, plan in years, decades and centuries. What we are experiencing in the USA today, is the progression of 50 years of evil planning, intent on making the US people BEG to have their rights taken away, so the gov’ment will keep them safe. The current HR is NOTHING but politics as usual. Until we are willing to lock crazies up, before they can kill, AND swiftly execute the monsters who do maim and kill, the democraps and evil people at large, continue to approach the point where even conservative may beg them to take their rights away int he name of safety. Not me of course… I am just waiting for the leftists to start their shooting civil war.

  2. You need some good people on any board to make it work. What happens when you get 24 Progressive Democrat members? Imagine the recommendations?

You need someone like Clayton Cramer to recommend some people that know mental health from the failed public side. Maybe people that worked on Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s attempts to get mentally ill and homeless off the NYC streets? (That was more than twenty years ago.)

Definitely want to limit the Committee life. No more than two years. Any such committee cannot just say, “We have no new recommendations this year.” They will NEED to make new recommendations every year, no matter how bad their new recommendations are. Eventually they will get around to banning guns when nothing else works.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
