In case you missed the news, earlier this week three women and their six children were killed and five more children were wounded in an attack by members of the Sinaloa drug cartel.  The youngest victim was only eight months old.

Here is how major US news sources reported on that massacre:

Yeah, like a century ago.

“Fundamentalist settlers” sounds so scary.

The NBC News ran this headline:

Slain U.S. citizens were part of Mormon offshoot with sordid history
The nine U.S. citizens killed in a brutal ambush in Mexico belonged to a fundamentalist Mormon group that had been touched by cartel violence before.

The group was part of the extended LeBaron family, Mormon fundamentalists who first came to Mexico nearly a century ago — when the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City started cracking down on members who were still practicing polygamy.

To escape persecution in the U.S., Alma Dayer LeBaron brought his wives and children across the border to Mexico in 1924 and founded the LeBaron colony in the Mexican state of Chihuahua.

I just want to get this right?

Just after the story of Congresswoman Katie Hill having a “throuple” with her husband and her staffer broke, CBS news ran a story about “consensual non-monogamy.”

We were not supposed to judge Congresswoman Hill’s sexual proclivities because they weren’t hurting anybody.  Besides, polyamory/non-monogomy is one of those hip new sexual orientations.  What are you, a closed-minded bigot?

Also, the prevailing Leftist opinion is that illegal immigrants who come to the United States should be immediately given every benefit and protection, as well at the right to vote in (for now) local elections.

HOWEVER…

A Mormon sect that practiced polygamy when it entered Mexico 95 years ago are sexually deviant colonial interlopers, who sort of deserved to be massacred by drug traffickers.

My takeaways from all of this are that for the Lefists who work for and read our major news outlets:

Monogamy is bad and having multiple sexual partners after marriage is good.  Unless is it polygamy, which is bad because it’s like “super marriage” because you are married to all the different people you have sex with.

Also, observant Christians rank lower on the likeability scale than mass-murdering drug traffickers.

  1. Saw this coming a mile away. No, I’m not LDS nor am I a member of any of the “Fundamentalist” sects. I do have family that are LDS and a great, great…great grandfather who had multiple wives. Any time Mormons are in the news, someone always points out that one of the founding principles of Mormonism was polygamy, as if that is the current policy of the main church. It’s almost as if they want to lynch Joseph Smith all over again.

It makes no difference if the victims were members of a breakaway Mormon sect or were Muslims, Satanists or whatever, innocent American women and children were murdered in a targeted ambush by a vicious drug cartel that has become the de-facto government of that area of Mexico. If we ignore this, how long before we cede parts of our Southern border states to the cartels? Yet the Socialists would have us believe that somehow the victims deserved their fate because they were “Fundamentalist Mormons.”

  2. Once again, the fundamental axiom of politics, media and social interactions is in full effect.

    Please repeat after me:
“The action taken by the individual is not offensive, the political inclination of the individual taking the action is offensive.”

Let it sink in. Apply it to every situation involving a mix of politics and the media.

  3. It matters not what their forefathers were doing there a hundred years ago. These were folks who were minding their own business, driving down the road – all women and children.

I don’t even care if they have been at war with the cartels, recently. Some stories are out there about that, too.

    They were women and children!

My mom lives 2 to 2-1/2 hours drive from where this happened – in Arizona!

What we need, but our government will never provide, is a buffer zone between Mexico and the US. Set up a 50-100 mile buffer south of our border, under US military rule. Border towns would thrive, economically.

But, but but but, Mexico! Screw mexico. They can’t control things in their country, then we’ll make sure it doesn’t spill over into ours.

  4. I knew that the left would defend the cartels. However attacking the people that were shot and set on fire while I didn’t expect that particular angle is almost surprising. But not really. They have to take the exact opposite stance of Trump no matter what the stance is.

This is why I say that the left would have no problem exterminating 100 million United States citizens via nuclear carpet bombing. Because they hate the people of the United States. To them skin color means everything and since brown people killed white people it is acceptable. If you are far left progressive liberal. So when the Democrats win they have permanent control of everything give the cartels nuclear weapons and the cartels use those nuclear weapons in the United States killing 30 40 million people that’s OK because the cartels have brown skin.

You know how fucking insane what I said is? How is it I can spout completely crazy nonsense and almost sounds like it could be true or could happen?Goes to show where we are in politics nowadays. It’s gonna take a lot more dead bodies to pull us back from that brink. But that would be assuming the left actually cares about human life other than a tool. Since the left does not care about life and wants everyone not like them dead I don’t think the brink is going to be avoided. Interesting fucking times indeed. At least after they’ve killed us all they have to live in their “utopia“. Until they’re lined up against the wall and shot.

  5. Let’s play their game for a bit and see if they think it is OK?

Who are the NY Times reports for this article?
Simon Romero, Elizabeth Dias, Julie Turkewitz and Mike Baker

I bet if we looked into their families past, we might find out that one, or likely all of them have ancestors that were a safe distance from law abiding, or for that matter, even nice.

Oh,look, here is a guy with the same last name. If there was even the remotest connection to our Mr. Romero it would be interesting to watch him squirm.
