Although I am obviously pissed off that an elected moron said something that stupid (he later said he was joking, we heard that one before) this is a great example on how he sees Gun Owners: Rednecks in Fly Over country that we can easily defeat with the proper application of nuclear devices which will not affect us in Beautiful (If slightly scorched) California.
It was supposed to be an article of faith that the government would not use nuclear weapons in US soil even in case of invasion. Now we have a member of the government who “jokingly” advocates the mass murder of Americans by atomic bombs.
Tell me again I am supposed to give u my guns and trust them.
I am buying more ammo and maybe a new rifle.
Might be really, really entertaining, searching for food in da cities, after the first deplorable-nuclear-attack.
I’m betting the response, at it’s most passive, would sound very much like, “Hey! You all should worship at the altar of the patron saint of fertility, and dine on manure, in the dark. And, those who are exiting the cities would be ambulatory skeet!”

On a technical note, how exactly does he think nukes would be used?
Maybe it’s just me and a lack of imagination, but I can’t come up with any effective method for using nukes to counter an uprising.
About the best I can come up with is MAD, where his (or whom ever it concerns) heart beat is connected to a dead man’s switch.

I’m not surprised. I have commented before in several places that they would have no issue dropping nukes killing over 100 million people to kill all gun owners. In fact I expect it. It’s not a stretch considering they don’t view us as humans and more like insects that need to be exterminated.

1) Just who the hell do you think will obey orders to nuke Salt Lake, or Phoenix, or Boise or Atlanta or any other suspected stronghold of rebels? People who have family there? People who have sworn an oath to defend this country?
2) How the hell do you expect to contain the fallout to just those areas?
